I like my black car with black wheels to be honest I went for black as I like OEM looking wheels which aren't really an option when going lightweight so they're black so they don't stand out so much then made more things black on the car so I look like the hoodlum I am, if people don't like the car they'll only be seeing the tail end for a second anyway
Yep each to there own matey.. I’m trying to upload my previous grey B7 with black wheels but keeps saying image too large.. what you drive mr can I ask?
I tried black wheels on my old bus , wheels themselves looked great until I fitted them.....wasn't sold on them at that point , and they woud'nt fit either.
That sucks. I think that would’ve looked great. I like the murdered out look personally but the wheels do have to be right. It can look really good and tough when done right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I really liked the wheels in the box , just didn't work for me when fitted, well they didn't fit anyway..lol, maybe if they had been 19" with 35 profile tyres they may have looked better....
Now I loved these black/polished rims , but same they didn't fit either.....that was a bummer as I tried everything to get them on...…
Updated shots from my project thread at Audizine: ECS catch can system. BMC air filter (okay so you can't see it). Turbo inlet hose (Chinese vendor). Black optic grille, S4 mirrors, black optic roof rail etc. Rear shows the Milltek exhaust and black Audi badge (all other badges were removed). Audi S4 wheels (BBS CH). I found these brand new when Audi was getting rid of old stock. Rear door with curtains. 'cockpit' with leather/suede sports seats and aluminium trim. Glove compartment with CD changer and refrigerator. Front door card, with BOSE speaker.
only a few minor mods really ,what i have in my signiture text but they work for me, maybe getting the wheels refinished a shade darker, just a maybe though.
Nice little spec. Do you get any pops or bangs from the high flow cat? Not sure wether to go complete decat or high flow? Got carbon interior linded up for mine as a mate has the carbon out of his old s4 that was written off. Next bits on mine: Spangblue paint for calipers, BMW carbon black for wheels, st coilovers, decat or high flow cat and fmic then a stage 2 map. Just done new clutch and flywheel oem spec from ECP wasnt going to pay oem prices on that haha. New front pads and discs got braided lines to go on. But might do cat next and a little map and leave fmic until tail end of next year. As got wedding between now and end of next year. Body work needs a little touch of paint but it is 10yrs old just been mopped so majority of **** stuff gone. Got new wings to replace rusty ones currently on the car just need 5 mins to put them on lol. Never end list haha
No pops or bangs with the 034 sports cat but it sounds really good when i open the taps a bit, very angry growl, i'm running a large bore down pipe with the original oem system and quad 90mm tail pipes, sounds brill. Big brakes are a first rate upgrade , i fitted brembo 18z's and they are epic . Have you tried getting the wings repaired under audi warranty, i had some small blisters , and i mean small on the rear wheel arches last summer, took it to my local dealer and they replaced both under warranty free of charge. I have a FMIC to fit when i get the chance but want to decoke the head first , still on the hunt for a nice pair of front black leather recaro's , thus far nothing has been quite right.
Probs will go done the decat route as after abit of pop and bang. Nice little set up you got going on. Yea went to coulsdon audi and they did a few micromitor readings but found that there are too many differences between the bonnet and wings so they wouldnt authorise it. Annoying but couldnt be ***** to argue anymore with them. So just bought some £70 for the pair lips just need painting as the previous person was running his car static and rolled the arches other than that they are spot on. Very hard to find the right interior alot of money aswell so got to be right.
Thought I’d share my 3.0TDI Tip Avant. Had a 2.0t S-Line SE Saloon in red before my little girl came along and regretted getting rid ever since. This beats it by a mile though!
Good Clean ready to go into the New year. _20181231_102821 by martin p, on Flickr _20181231_102755 by martin p, on Flickr
Rather than cleaning my car, I'll post a picture of when it was clean, and just pretend I cleaned it. Right now it looks like it just finished a rally.
looks good, big old IC though....any reason for going that large and how will it effect cooling air reaching the water rad behind, I've seen a few reports of cooling issues resulting from large IC's mounted in front of cooling rads.
Can you link me to any such report please? I have not driven much since the install so I can't tell just yet. I imagine if there is an issue I can install a better fan on the inside of the radiator to pull air.
I saw several articles , not recently but they should still be viewable, on this forum and on Audizine , a quick search should give the results you need. In your location it may not be as relavant with cooler air temps etc for longer periods but there were issues where warmer air temps and full size IC's did cause problems, anyway a quick search should point you in the right direction chap. Which was why I went with a half size one, not fitted it yet , well still in the box but on my todo list.
Iv been looking at the airtec fmic 549 quid tho but it does look the part plus the crash bar and they seem like they know what ther doin with the size of the cooler but is it to big??
Link or it's not true theirs allot more to it than that and it's far from an Audi specific topic, some people (myself included) calculate intercooler and piping size based on what we want from it, for a big horsepower build it would be foolish not to have a big 'cooler.
just search it yourself....I don't need to make things up like this, all you do is dis other members post's inc mine, and from someone that uses the wrong wheels bolts and thinks it fine, don't get on the wrong side of me again.
To be fair I read your post wrong as I thought this was about a larger intercooler being less efficient rather than it effecting radiator temps but surely that's only an issue if the intercooler is mounted directly on top of the rad. We try to provide correct information and if that means your posts are providing incorrect information about the weight of car's or what's wrong with them or the multitude of other things you've posted don't be surprised when others correct this as we are trying to help.
I made the point based on information readily available, which suggested full height IC may effect engine cooling , nothing about how much more efficient Larger IC are and how they can be very beneficial to increasing engine performance . It is a fact that an overly large IC can be detrimental to performance aswell, it works both ways , but all down to being matched to the ouput that is expected from any upgrade. Anyway , that's not what I was replying about , It was purely concerning engine cooling in conjunction with a large full height IC. If that's not helping then i'll leave the forum and you can take over...
Readily available (or told to be 4 times now) with no reference... explain how the height of an intercooler would cool the radiator, as said if it's touching (for example because it's too thick or mounted incorrectly) that would make sense.
What are you on.....where did I say the height of the IC would cool the radiator....I didn't , nothing about the IC cooling the engine. I have had it with you now frankly, you have turned what was a straight forward reply into a farse now. I didn't come on this site to get wrapped up in this sort of baiting replies......so thank's chap you have finally succeeded in rattling my cage once too often , hope your satisfied . I'm out of here.
I presume that airtec know what they are doin and have tested the size of the IC and maybe thats why it is what it is i dare say if it could be smaller it probably wouldov been smaller i dont know.
I have no doubt it works very well on the higher spec upgrade engines , but not so sure its the best option for stage 1 - 2 though . I went with this option as it was rated optimal for stage 1 -2 without going full size, but all down to choice really. I'm not convinced the full size ones don't have any effect on the cooling efficiency of the engine cooling rad behind it , open road fine but in slow traffic or stationary on a hot day....not sure its ideal as it get's really hot under the bonnet of the 2.0t 's , just my input.
I have noticed the high temps on hotter days as these engines do run reli hot i was suprised how hot they get tbf and are you running tha fmic??
Nope it's still in the box at the moment, I bought online from the states as it was on sale and had it shipped over by a friend gratis so worked out a cracking purchase. To be honest it was a good easy to fit out of the box solution that I wanted , but having thoughts on any further mods to the old bus now so may just sell it on at some point, i'll see how things go. rob
