Post Pics Of Your A4/S4 B9 In Here

Looks great, worth the wait?
Thanks.

Yes it was worth it as it's a lovely car and I prefer the extra space over my old A3 Saloon, but struggling to like the S Tronic gear box after 40 years of a stick. Its like someone else driving and you telling them when to change and the obvious delay that would ensue. Pulling out of junctions just not as safe IMHO.

Hopefully if I can't get used I may forget what the manual was like one day. :friendly wink:

Like you I drove nothing but manuals since I was big enough to reach the pedals however had no problem in going across to the stronic. Once you get used to it then it'll be fine and I certainly wouldn't go back to a manual again. Just try knocking it into sport if junctions really concern you...

I'll try that and hopefully, like you, I eventually appreciate the advantages more than the disadvantages.

Sweet. It's tragic there are no longer Avant sales in North America; only the Allroad. I loved my B7 Avant.

It’s been at the detailer’s all week and I’m picking it up from Highland Audi tomorrow. James at Highland Polishing, Inverness was good enough to take some photos during the process of the new car car detail with the IGL Kenzo ceramic coating. It’s also been applied to the piano black inlays...

Excellent work, car is looking good...
Thanks. Can’t wait to see it tomorrow. Audi are picking it up from Highland Polishing and it’ll be washed and dried again by the detailer himself before the hand-over. If that’s not great service, I don’t know what is!

The rest is up to you to maintain it. I am sure you've looked in the detailing thread for any advice, if needed...

Oh yes. A small fortune has already been spent on various detailing products. Worth it to keep a proper shine, though.

I’ve been a B9 S4 owner just over a week, managed to squeeze her in for a detail and ceramic coating, very pleased with B9 ownership so far; I absolutely loved my B8 S4 (MRC Stage2) and was a bit worried about making the jump to the B9, but it’s a fantastic car, different, but fantastic.

Very nice. Have a soft spot for Navarra as my first S5 coupe was this colour. Looks completely different when detailed

Just flick gear-lever into S (pull towards you) much more responsive and quicker change

Finally got my windows tinted. I'm not sure if they are not too dark, might get them redone in more transparent tint.

Perhaps if you had the font passenger windows tinted to match if would be more effective on hot days (assuming your 2018 summer was not a one on a thousand year event!) and the appearance would look far more balanced. That said, uncertain if you have rules and regs that preclude that.

Interesting.
That might explain why our Euro imports arrive with the privacy glass tint and the remainder is left to us to apply law with or regs which require 35% transmission through the driver and passenger side windows at the front.

Cheers,

Interesting that your window surrounds have black trim but your grill surround is chrome. Have you had them wrapped?

Yes, the window surrounds are wrapped and also the horizontal pieces of the grille. I left the grille surround chrome to try and make the grille stand out more. I want to get the rs style grille with a chrome surround but waiting for the price to come down.

Did you wrap them yourself? How did it turn out? Also might go this route.

I wrapped the grille myself but I left the windows for the professionals. You need much bigger pieces of wrap for the window surrounds if you want them done without any joints. It would be quite expensive to buy the wrap that big in the first place and it requires a lot more of hiding of the edges. It's done so well that you cannot notice it's a wrap.

With the factory-fit privacy glass you don't notice much of a difference in light transmission when you're looking from the inside out: with aftermarket tints, does it look as dark from the inside as it does from the outside?

Just picked up my 2019 P+

Thinking of wrapping the grill black and chrome window trime gloss black - thoughts?

Here is what I would be going for:
