Oh man, I have a thing for red interiors. Those red seats with the diamond stitching look absolutely amazing, enjoy!

Got the car delivered mid day today. What a day for

it as well, beautiful sun for once.

My initial thoughts on the car:

Very happy with it overall. Absolutely LOVE how quiet the car is, happy I did not spec the acoustic glass as the vast majority of noise I can hear is tyre patter (but still better than most cars), so not sure how much the acoustic glass would have added anyway. It really is a serene place to be. The 1.4 engine is perfectly adequate, and I say that having come from a car with 280HP. When just driving normally the car feels perfectly nippy and responsive, especially at town speeds between 0 to 40mph. I only found it obviously lacking grunt compared to my 280HP car when I gave it a bit of gas above 60mph. But really, it's fine, and much better than I thought it would be. It certainly does not feel like a small little engine that is struggling. The B&O speakers are nice, CarPlay is great, the digital dash is awesome. The quality of the car is just 10/10, everything feels really well made.

My only real minor complaints are that I would like a faster rack, having come from a hot hatch I do find myself turning the wheel a lot more especially at low speed maneuvers. It's not a big deal though, just something to get used to. The suspension is also quite firm, I would not say it is bad or in any way back breaking, but it is undeniably firm. I'm okay with it, at least it handles nicely and does not have any body roll. It still feels like a good high quality suspension even if it is a tad firm. I also do notice that pulling off is a bit weird, not sure if it's the 7 speed s-tronic or the engine. It feels like you give it some gas, the revs build for a second, and then it suddenly lurches forward a bit almost asif you lifted the clutch too quickly on a manual. Might just be the lack of low RPM power ? it's not bad, just my old car was smoother on pull off. But I am already getting used to it and getting smoother, so perhaps I have a heavy foot :haha:

Anyway here are some photos and a video. We've all seen the car 101 times now in all manner of spec, but I know you all enjoy seeing pics anyway.

Nice little review mate. A few people have commented on the auto being better in Dynamic but believe eco/auto are best for mpg. Mine is manual and I get best overall mpg in Dynamic. Mine is 2.0tdi = Dynamic 49mpg, Auto 44mpg, Efficiency 40-44mpg, but I'm sure yours will perform better in dynamic..

Has anyone got any pics of an A4 Avant Black Edition, in black, that they would like to share?
Thanks,
Dave.

Gave it a clean yesterday. First time I’ve used a clay bar. What a difference! So smooth. All products from the Bilt Hamber deluxe kit. Snow foam, shampoo, wheel cleaner, korrosol, clay, diluted QD, double speed wax. Love it.

Very nice :icon thumright:

Now to try and keep it that way!

You really should polish the car after claying as the clay can impart some slight marring to the paintwork

First A4 and only my second Audi (had an A5 6 years ago) and coming from having two 2.2d Evoques over the last 6 years, the driving is immensely more fun!

3.0tdi (272ps), Quattro, Black Edition, Techpack, Tiptronic in quantum grey

Thought long and hard on the suspension but ultimately went for comfort option due to back issues.

Unfortunately the rings were added by the dealer, I'm still not sold on them, but it doesn't bug me enough to remove.

Overall, I love it!

Real big vern, I hope your's ends up being more reliable than mine - owned my 3.0 272 from new (14 months old now) and it's literally in the dealership every month. It's in there at the moment with a diesel leak (new fuel line required) and coolant leak.

Sometimes I wish I had got the avant, who’s bright idea was it to buy a new shed anyway

I feel you're pain, although we have got an B9 Avant, well an Allroad as our regular B9 Avant Quattro has been replaced now...

Had the "pleasure" of 6 trips to the local recycling centre after having a new fence fitted, at that point last weekend the car had only done 167miles !

After a long, long wait she finally arrived. I drove straight from dealer to auto shop and installed Miltek Non Res Exhaust, KW HAS Kit and a set of BC Forged Wheels. From there, drove straight to detailer for a ceramic coat application and removal of V6 badges on the fenders and the rear S4 badge.

Stunning!

Same interior as mine, such a lovely combo with the magma and carbon trim.

Love the wheels,great job.

Thanks! I’ll post more pics in the next few days. This car is so different to my PFL RS3. Far less dramatic and more subtle, but in a nice way. Perhaps I may do a comparison in the near future.

Surprised you got a tfsi 190 as they were in short supply a few months ago. Or that’s what I read at least.

I don't think so, I ordered a 2.0 TFSI 190 on 23rd March and getting the car delivered this Friday. I *think* there might be a shortage of 1.4 TFSI 150 engines though due to the sheer popularity of them.

So washing the car last night and noticed my LSP wasn’t performing to well. It’s lasted 6 months so I’m not surprised. Nothing else for it but an early start and a full paint decontamination so I could reapply the LSP. Happy with the results though
