Here's my 2018. I've finally installed the 034 springs, H&R rear sway bar, & 034 strut tower brace. I added the carbon bits in the interior shortly after I bought the car in '18.

Here is mine. It’s only a 1.4 tfsi sport and to be honest I didn’t exactly love it when I got it… I do now though. I’ve sorted out the looks on the outside and added a few bits of spec to the inside too.

its not bad… but gutless on motorways for in gear acceleration but I’ve driven far worse. I had it remapped which helped a lot. After years of diesels I do miss the torque but it’s easy enough to change gear, get the revs up and have a bit of fun

Hello everyone. Picked mine about about 2 months ago, so far had it tinted, dechromed and did a front resonator delete. Cold starts sound amazing without being obnoxious, afterwards it calms down completely, but it does DSG farts when changing gears at high revs.

I'm now looking for some wheels. Im either thinking of painting the current ones in gunmetal grey or getting some aftermarket rotiforms. Will also go on H&R 20mm lowering springs in the near future. What do you guys reckon?

Had mine 5 months now
3.0 v6 tdi 218
Virtual dash
B&O
Heated front and back seats
Keyless entry
Tech package
Comfort and sound package
Adaptive suspension
Rear camera
Incredible fuel consumption after my 3.0 v6 Touareg.
40mpg around the doors, Touareg was 23-25.
Just a remap to do in the spring and that’s it.

Thanks Frizz, it’s a much smoother drive for sure - the initial pull away and low speed operation of the gearbox is not jerky like the s-tronic was at times. Even though I had the adaptive suspension before this feels much more ”buttery”.
The driving aids actually are a lot more useful than I had thought they would be, particularly on a long trip - I was surprised too that you can switch lane assist off and it stays off - unlike other vag cars where it’s on by default each time you start the vehicle.
Managed 45mpg on the drive to Holyhead which was good, the town driving mpg was a bit of a shock but the average quickly climbs when you get on even a 10 mile run - another couple of weeks before I stop obsessing over it!
It’ll take a while to learn to drive with the engine/gearbox rather than against it - the same though I felt was the case with the s-tronic, this feels a bit like as you slowly press the accelerator, it goes from not enough to way too much in a not very linear way.

My S5 is averaging around 33 since new and I regularly get around 44mpg on long runs. The different driving modes make a noticeable difference to the way the gearbox / engine reacts as well as the ride so it’s worth experimenting. I keep mine in comfort most of the time as there is more than enough power even when you want to overtake.

Looking at your wheels I’m assuming yours is a Vorsprung so it will have all the toys, The ACC and 360 camera are really useful and I like the HUD. The only thing I still haven't figured out is the coasting function which seems to have a mind if it’s own’

Yes, it’s going to take some time before I’m more reliant on the 360 cam and I might have to break the rules and read how the park assist is supposed to work as I haven’t been able to satisfy whatever it’s looking for to engage.
The cruise for me is a little annoying, I find that if I set it to 75 it will coast down to 70/71 and then seemingly shoot back up to 75 at the bottom of the hill in what feels like a very uneconomic way. It ends up where if someone is following you at 75, when the car slows to 70 on a down hill bit they pull out to overtake just as the car shoots back up to 75.

Another thing I wanted to ask you about though was about the dpf regen, my last A4 used to sit at 90° and go up by 10° during a regen, today mine went up from 95 to about 110° (which looks like a lot on the dial!) whilst returning 27mpg for around 20 mins of dual carriageway driving - does that sound familiar at all?

Re the cruise there are a couple of settings buried in the mmi, if I recall one is called intelligent coasting and another called Predictive control which impact / interact with the ACC. On the later it can be set to work with speed limits or to adapt to the road ahead eg it will slow down for corners etc. Check these to seen if they are on - I only found them by accident when the car kept slowing down to 50mph in some roadworks on the M1 which actually had a speed limit of 60mph. The sat nav had not been updated with the latest speed limits and kept overriding the ACC. subsequently set both of these to off and the set speed is now constantly maintained unless the acc picks up something in front that is either too close or going slower.

I’ve not noticed the regen apart from when the fans run after parking up however tbhthe car does seem to run a lot hotter than my previous 3.0 TDI s line. According to the manual normal operating temp is between 80 - 120. The most I’ve seen on mine was about 112 during last summers heatwave.

Re the 360 camera if you’ve not found them yet you can select alternative views in the mmi eg there is one or th3 front and one for the rear wheels which are particularly useful when parking .

Thanks, I’ll have a look for the settings - on the recent long drive it did pick up a 30mph sign on an overpass slip road which was interesting and I swear it reacted to a speed restricted sign on the back of a lorry too!

in all honesty I prefer the BMW for the drive but prefer the interior of the Audi but ill probably buy a BMW again
Hey, I somewhat agree. I find the the s tonic gear box a little jerky at low speeds compared to slushbox auto in BMW I had. But you're right, the interior in the Audi is very nice compared to BMW of same ages.

How did you find the led headlights in your BMW Vs Audi?
