Hey guys thought I'd post my findings after extensive research regarding over revving when changing gear.
First off the first thing to try is clutch switch, cheap and easy to replace, if that doesn't cure the problem look into the pedal being faulty, I mean there's a chance it could have a crack in it also there is a plastic clip that's meant to be by the clutch switch for it to sit correctly (which turned out to be the problem for mine) I've also heard the diverter valve/recirc valve can cause it but I've not had that problem. Throttle calibration can also be an issue but not likely in my opinion. One last thing was the ecu can get confused (rarely) but if it does you can discharge the system by touching both terminals together when removed from the battery which gets rid of all the nasty little gremlins.
Hope this helps people and anything I can help with just ask away
