Poor MPG

Is anyone else getting really bad MPG at the minute ? I filled mine up the other night and managed to squeeze 45 litres in ... and i'd only covered 320 miles, so by my reckoning thats 32mpg out of a TDi ... i'd rather get mid 20's and have a petrol !

It depends what sort of driving you are doing. Round town mine gets mid 30s. Cold weather doesn't help either, especially if you have the diesel fuelled pre heater rather than the electric pre heater system.

Check your air filter too.

Yeah mine has dropped too. Spoke to a few people at work and they reckon they only give great MPG when hot and the weather is not helping at the mo!

That's good to know that I'm not the only one getting bad mpg! Thought it was something wrong with my car! I'm getting just under 90 miles from every tenner! So I think it's doing low 40's at the moment. Also how do you find out what pre-heater the car has?

i am abotu the same but over the past 3 time i aint filled up to brim.

but i did

£30 350miles Mostly distance driving but about 100 of them aroudn town

£20 250 miles again same as above

and this last time

£45 and Got about 500 out of it was abotu half and half this time ,

Is that mostly motorway.

Mines about 400-450 but thats 2/3 motorway 1/3 town from full tank...

But got 580 from a full tank all motorway and that was between 70-100mph..

If i be careful and stick to the limits, im pretty sure i could hit club 700...
