Hi folks,

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a b6 a4 1.9 and Im averaging under 30mpg and have never seen it above this. I only have the car a month and have just had a new temp sensor fitted as the gauge never moved. Now the car goes upto 90 and stays so i dont think its a thermostat issue. I havent given it a long drive drive since the new sensor but surely it should be alot more than 30? Ive drove about half an hour since its been fitted and its still pretty much the same. When the car was plugged in there was no faults. I have the car booked in next week for a new camshaft to be fitted as its worn and vibrating under load in 4th and 5th. Surely this couldnt affect MPG?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Could be a blocked EGR. Blocked intake manifold. Dirty MAF. Dirty fuel filter. Faulty injector loom.
