Evening everyone!
I'm after some advice if possible, I have a 3l by diesel a6 quattro 12 plate. I'm changinging the injector seals this wkend as one is leaking and I have been having a diesel smell in the cabin for some time,on inspecting around the engine be nosey I have found a pool of fresh diesel sitting on top of the engine underneath the fuel return pipes, obvious thoughts were a split pipe but that doesn't seem to be the case! Would explain why my economy has be a little poor.I'm going to look into it more but any further assistance would be massively appreciated many thanks luke

You need to give it all a good clean with a solvent cleaner, Check all the pipes are tight. There is stupidly designed 'V' in the engine which tends to collect all sorts of crap and store it. Thats where the diesel HPFP is located and accessing it is a pain too.
Also check the fuel rails and any connections to it are not leaking.
