Hi guys. I'm looking at getting some lowering springs for my bitdi Avant and just looking for some before and after pics if anyone had some please?

Also how much does changing springs effect the ride quality?

    Thanks

    Paul

I have a 2012 S-Line 3.0 tdi which was lowered as from new, in fact delivered that way I guess as it's in the code letters that describe the original car. I have no complaints about the ride at all, so I shouldn't think it makes a lot of difference, if any.

I also have a 3.0 TDI S-Line C7. Late 2011. How would I know if mine came with them as standard? Many thanks.

S line cars come as standard with sports suspension and are lower than se spec cars but I am looking for aftermarket sports lowering springs which lower the car a further 10-15mm on top of s line height.
    Thanks

My 3.0 Quattro on Eibachs and standard shocks. I replaced the shocks with new standard ones rather than go aftermarket and ruin the ride quality

Can't help you with that, sorry, but I think if you asked your local dealer they can look it up and tell you.

OK that's informative. Thanks. I'm possibly going for h+r springs - I want a little lower than S-Line standard height.

I wonder will the h+r springs feel OK on factory shocks?

Just to clarify, my S-Line is lower than other S-Lines and I've been told it was a factory option that shows up in my car details.

Well if that's the case I wasn't aware there was a factory option for lower than s line.
    News to me

@Buxton2901 I'd just go for coilovers but then I am biased .

In the A7 brochure it says S line is lowered 10mm over standard and the black edition is lowered an extra 10mm on top of the s line suspension. Would have thought an A6 would be similar.

Im going straight home tonight to check my brochure - and maybe follow up with a call to my Audi Dealer in the morning. Just to clarify.

Im very dubious about toying with my suspension - I'd like to go a few mm lower, but not at the cost of trading top of the range factory parts for aftermarket items with a fraction of the R&D.

My old bitdi was a black edition on s-Line sports suspension (zero cost option over s-Line suspension), it looked rather low but ride was fine on the 20’s, kids and wife never complained it was firm but not crashy. Handling with the sports diff was great

Just downloaded the myAudi app.. Registered my chassis number..

Seems I have the S-Line sports suspension.

My car sits on 20" rims, and the ride is super comfortable in my opinion. I still want it a little lower though.

Am I mad putting in h&r sport springs??

Here is the ride height at present...

I fitted the H&R springs to my SE seem pretty comfortable to me and its on 20s

Next chance I get I wanna see about the rears if I can do anything with the rubber spring seats as its a bit higher on the rear when on level ground, but the spring seats also locate them in position so unsure what I can do about it yet. Its not the worst thing ever, just something I'd like to sort out of preference.

Definitely an improvement there pal! I'm worried as mine has factory S-Line Sport Suspension, are the H & R springs going to bring her down much more...

@88rsr when I had my coilovers fitted my mechanic said he left the rear upper spring supporting disc in on mine but on the instructions it says to remove it so you might be able to remove yours. Should give between 10-15mm more drop.

@QUIGGS2001 The H&R springs will bring it down to the same height as @88rsr car as the measured drop is normally given for an SE spec car.

@Bulldog cheers that could sort me right out, admittedly when fitting it was peeing down so I was using my work vans canopy for cover and I didn't really notice it when finished until I saw the car parked on flat ground. But yeah I know those rubber seats are thick so a straight removal would be nice, I just had it in my head they also located the spring somehow too like the hole diameter or something.
In the case of straight removal I might get something like some rubber tubing or just something thinner to protect the spring so its not in direct contact with metal for noise and/or corrosion reasons.
I also thought it would be worthwhile pointing out to someone interested in the same springs to look out for the same thing.

Hmm Hope this won't be a waste of my time & money then... The springs in my car are likely the same size as the H & Rs I'm going to put in?!

In saying that, a pal of mine put H & Rs into his S-Line Quattro A7 last wk and it did bring it down nicely.
