The only thing I can find out about Phantom black is that it don't exist - on the Audi uk site anyway. Can anyone tell me the difference beween Phantom black & Ebony black?? Does it make your car disappear or something - just out of interest???

Just another variation on pearl effect paint.
Ebony was the older colour, but has been updated to phantom.
Probably very hard to tell them apart, unless you had 2 cars next to each other.

My 3 month old A3 TDI Quattro SLine is phantom black - its a lovely colour however it does need washing every week at a minimum!
My previous A3 was Lava Grey which was a nice colour however in strong sunlight it could look tinged with brown
