I've been on autotrader and come across a few examples I'm interested in, They are a long way from home though. A friend has suggested paying for an independent RAC inspection. But would this find particular issues known to this vehicle. Have any of you guys got tips for what to look for. Better still some history from past owners of these vehicles in particular:

Daytona Grey with ally pack

Sepang Blue with black pack

Also tech pack vs non tech pack screens. Worth the extra £? Or can it be retrofitted later for cheaper?

Appreciate your help.

As with any car I suppose, make sure the history and mileage matches up most important had all the right oil changes (haldex ect) can’t really pinpoint any particular faults ,they like going through Front Disks and pads ,Browse the Forum mate then you can see what problems Folks have had :thumbs up:….personal preferences with the specs
Pfl a must would be the exhaust and deffo Mag ride which is dynamic packi think ,Bose if you can tear ya self away from the sound of the 5 pot plus Sunroof which was my must …then we go with SS seats or not once again personally preference…
Buy from Main dealer years warranty and I think their be more interested in selling a half quality car ,indi 3 months warranty trade off I suppose is price ,so I’d have to make sure if it wasn’t from Main stealer it be from a well respected indie specialist…personally wouldn’t want to buy one that had been mapped unless 100% sure who mapped it ,but personally it would still put me off a little
As for RAC Vehicle check ,I had one done with AA when I bought an A45 from a performance garage and do recommend em ,paint thickness, panel alignment ect they give em proper going over even down to 12v sockets that dont work and give you a full report.. I do tend to fall in love with old wrecks and miss all the vital signs :grumpy: …love is Blind lol

Don’t let distance put you off I picked mine up from Basingstoke and I’m in Manchester, i think it’s better to get one with tech pack, OEM no messing or additional costs but other people might suggest better...if it’s from main dealer no need for an inspection, same goes for a highly respected Indy I would think, if it’s a smaller dealer then yes i think it’s a good idea I have a friend who got shafted buying it from small dealer and serious issues in the end even though all checks were clear before purchase etc...There are many more experienced owners on here who might be able to add better opinions haha but good luck :thumbs up:

Yer absolutely on the mileage and history front, I think from reading everywhere (I've been after one of these for a LONG time) haldex oil change and servicing is a must. I've read about the RS backbox rattle being a pain and the eating of front disks. But aside from that these cars pretty robust, would be looking around the 40k miles region?

I was looking at anything apart from nardo and black in colour (sorry to those who have them, just not for me) sepang or daytona preferred with or without ally pack, dynamic pack (RS exhaust and MAG), black super sports (red stitching/RS design pack a bonus), b&o and tech pack preferred. The AA check sounds bob on. So far the garages for these cars mentioned don't appear to be specialists nor main dealers, but still retain pretty good if not flawless reviews....

Thanks for replying though, Great help!

TBH I was thinking I would need to travel to get a good one so its good that we are on same page. Thanks for the reply.

I did look at Automotive Addiction as the stuff they sell is impeccable. But even for a pre-facelift, the premiums are pretty high and in this case out of my reach. shame really.

No worries yeah the prices are really crazy at the minute I managed to get a really good price on mine last year considering the spec I got and mileage and history. Just keep searching everyday few times a day, this is what I did and it took me about 6 months to find the perfect one for me, and you have to be quick if you see one make contact straight away :sunglasses:

I think I've found one, in what looks like mint condition so after very little deliberation paid a reserve, Hoping to go and see it next week.

Sepang Blue, Black pack, Tech pack, Dynamic Pack, Comfort and Sound Pack, Super sports (silver stitching), Audi dash cam. very low miles 20k :)

Here she is, although terrible luck, flawless 3 hour drive home, couple of short drives etc and now got a number of errors on dash. To me like my merc was an abs/wheel speed sensor.

Nice colour!

Errors on the dash is concerning given you have just purchased the vehicle. Did you get a warranty and have you contacted the dealer?

Thanks I thought so too,

Yes it has a 12 month warranty. by Automotion which the dealer has informed me can be used at main dealer. I've plugged it into Carly and it advises a wheel speed sensor on rear axle which correlates with everything I've read. It's intermittent too. Comes on sometimes not constant.
