So we've had the wife's S1 from new since Aug 2015. Wow! What a car! We've embarrassed a few boy racers (and old chaps) in bigger and more powerful cars, great fun!
However, from day one there has been a rattle coming from the rear nearside. It's worse at low speeds and when going over speed bumps etc. It sounds 'mechanical', rather than a piece of trim flapping.
We were having so much fun with the car we never really bothered getting it looked at and left it until the first service a few weeks ago. The dealership confirmed there is a rattle and asked us to book it in for further investigation. This worked out well as the 'valeter' that cleaned it after its service has scratched hell out of the beautiful Sepang Blue paint job, so they are getting a detailer in to put it right at the same time.
They've had the car for two days now, they have the entire rear end stripped down and still cannot locate the problem. They called this afternoon to ask if they can keep it another couple of days to put some specialist sound detection equipment on the chassis to see if they can identify the issue.
I'm now starting to think it may be something more serious than I first thought....
