My mate has just been in the car with me, when I pulled up and stopped he said "You're doing that wrong"
I had done the following:
1: Foot on brake
2: Pushed P on the gear lever
3: Pulled the park button up
4: Foot off brake and pushed engine off
He said it should be:
1: Foot on brake
2: Pull the park button up
3: Push P on the gear lever
4: Foot off brake and engine off
Obviously we both thought we were right, so we looked in the book and it turns out he was right!!!
So how do you do it and does it make any difference in general, or does it add to wear and tear on the gearbox doing the gear lever P first? I know on the old style Auto's they used to say in P it puts weight on the gearbox pin or something like that!?!?
