Parking brake switch (centre console) stuck

Hi,

My parking brake button is stuck and cannot switch off (press down) as something has gone through the gap. I have removed the centre console to see if I can remove the item but no luck.

I cannot see a way of removing the switch which would resolve the issue.

Has anyone remove this before and how?

Thank you, I did read this but was wondering whether there were any photos. I have tried removing the clips but they just bend and become not reusable

You need to release some clips holding the chrome trim surrounding the gearshift lever and then pry the 4 metal clips to remove the whole thing, this pictures might be of use (taken from google):

There are 4 quite big tabs that need to be cleared, it then pushes out the bottom. I used 2 very thin flathead screwdrivers to pry the surrounding plastic at the same time to ease it out.
