Painting s3 caliper spring

anyone done this to freshen them up?

Just wondered what paint you used as obviously only needed a small amount.

Would metal model paint do the job? I’m just thinking about how hot the caliper etc will get.

I’ve used hammerite black satin on the centre/ inside of the discs and this has been fine.

I’ve never had an issue with hammerite on my brake callipers before but never got that any hotter than normal road driving.

I did the spring in Simoniz VHT and baked it in the oven but i think you would be fine with just ordinary halfords spray, i doubt the spring gets that hot.

I’m about to do mine too. Would really want to strip the callipers off the car but don’t want to break the lines as I’d just changed the fluid before taking the car off the road
