Painting my calipers

Hey! Decided my first mod would be to paint my calipers. Cheap and easy and will (hopefully) look good! Just can't decide on a colour...

The car is glacier white. I fancy blue with the Audi rings decal on in white so they stand out. Black looks good too but is black really that noticeable?

Just can't decide...

Painted mine black and they turned themselves gunmetal grey haha, personally like red if you can keep them red.

Way back when I remember my friend painting his drum breaks gold which I thought looked really cool at the time but when I see painted drums now they do make me chuckle, no two ways about painting calipers being a cheap mod but if the OEM's paint them different colours on different cars it's hard to see how us doing the same is tacky; another of my friends did red calipers on a quick Jag and I didn't know any different until they told me, looked ace.

Best of luck, I'm sure they'll turn out good whatever colour.

Cheers. I've ordered a tin of Hammerite in smooth blue and some Audi decals. Less than £8 for the paint so nothing wasted if they look awful (sure they won't!) and need repainting.

Just a question. Anyone take the clips off to paint the caliper or is it just a case of wheel off, clean and pair?

I always find it a bit “barry boy” when standard callipers are painted a stand out colour especially with stickers. Unless they are uprated brakes or a proper RS model etc just stick to black so that’s my vote

I am also planing to paint them and I decided to go with black due having black edition
But need to pay off the car loan first...
