overheating problems

mine was just fixed last week cos it was overheating. it turned out to be the water pump, which seems to be a common problem.
my mates 1.8t a4 is overheating and just seems to produce loads of air...
any sugestions
Air? Do you mean in the cooling system? If so that would point to a compression leak into the water jacket, a head gasket maybe.
Does the water disappear form the radiator / header tank - or does it blow white steam from the exhaust when cold?
