Hello,

Just went out to the car to go for a drive, to be faced with no interior lighting (apart from the interior light works) cluster is like a christmas tree almost - car starts up okay. When it does start the interior lighting momentarily fades on then straight off again. I did disconnect the battery for about 10-15 minutes to see if that would change anything but it didn't. So I hooked it up to find two faults on Instrument.

00447 - Function limitation due to over-voltage (Upper limit exceeded)
00532 - Supply voltage B+ (Upper limit exceeded)

I did a little check on the internet to see what these two errors are and most replies say it's either a knackered battery or voltage regulator on the alternator is on it's way out? Could someone please clarify this as I would be grateful, if it needs a new battery or new alternator? And most importantly is the car safe to drive (during the day of course where lighting isn't needed) so it can be driven to a garage to be rectified.

Thanks in advance!
Ben
