Right got an odd one and before you ask i havent got any codes as i dont have a vcds and dont know anyone with one.

I was recently advise by a garage to change the Clutch Sensor as when i was changing gear the car was over revving

So i did that and all seemed okay however i had'nt been driving it hard.

Took it out for a "harder" drive today and notice that it still over revs by approx 3 - 400 rpm when changing gear could this be a map sensor issue and for the sake of 45 quid is it worth just swapping it out. I appreciate it would be easier to diagnose with a vcds but im off to the ring next friday and want to get this sorted.

Thanks in advance

Like i said previously i've changed the sensor already .. only thing i didnt do was disconnect the battery which i can do in the morning if need be

id say clutch switch aswell
but iv never had to disconect the batt
just plug an play.

scan for codes and see if clutch pedal implausable signal is there..
likely cause of your issue.. reset codes and try again

My S3 does this but i too have no codes when scanning with VCDS and i have checked the clutch switch cos it works ok using cruise control etc.

Will see if i can work out how to reset with VCDS next then.
