Ok, I give up!

Having made several attempts at this I finally give up - could someone please tell me how to get the engine cover / air filter unit off.

I get the feeling it is probably not as difficult as it seems and I will end up feeling rather stupid!!

The engine cover just needs a firm tug upwards at the front and back, then it will slide forward off the remaining securing point at the far left hand side. Can't advise on the air filter cover as I have never taken this off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

Looking at this from a mkv Golf which I believe is the same, then there is just 3 pozi drive screws to remove to get to the air filter.
