Oil temp/engine temp

What should they read on average on a 97 1.8T????

Oil temp gauge doesn't move!!!!

engine water temp should be around 90degrees as the thermostat atrts to open at 87degrees.
don't know about oil temp

My oil temp moves but not very high up the gauge, if it wasnt moving at all i would worry. Can you get it VAG-COM'd you might have something a miss somewhere

Hi mate, can't think waht the increments are, but now it's colder, mine is just above 80 most of the time, 90 or so, only saw it go to 100 in the summer after a good caning.

Water temp around 80, and oil temp about 70 ish normal driving, the oil temp will go up if i cane it, but the water temp stays pretty constant.
