Oil smell s3 8v

Anyone any ideas why i have a strong smell of oil when driving my s3 8v? also get a whiff when outside the car too? doesent seem to be using much oil and no visible leaks? its driving me mad. any ideas?

Is you car DSG? Warranty?

Could be Quattro diff oil or DSG but you cannot check levels easily

Get under the car and see if there are visible leaks

Yes it is dsg, smells more like engine oil to be honest but yes its worth a look. cheers.

If you can smell it then it's probably dripping onto something hot (turbo, exhaust, etc). So check around these areas for signs of oil leaking. Even a small amount dripping onto a hot exhaust can smell quite a lot. So just because the car isn't "using" oil, doesn't mean there is no small leak.
