I've booked the car in for an oil service as it's showing it's due on the dis.
Now when I had my 8P the last 2 services I got on that special deal for £299 which was great, however ive been quoted £258 just for the oil service. Now correct me if I'm wrong but it's just an oil change and nothing else!
I really don't know where they get the prices from

Picked them out of a hat lol

I supplied the genuine oil, filter and drain plug for mine (£36, PM me if you want details) and took it to a specialist called Quattro Tech who did the service and maintained the warranty for £80

Audi are simply a rip off lol

Go to a local garage. The stealership would try and take your kidneys, then sell them back at a premium if they could!

There is the diy kid with an oil extractor, takes about a whole 30 minutes and I usually buy oil for about $30 here in the states and oil filters in bulk. Much cheaper route.

I'm getting my oil changed for my first service in Jan.. Cheshire oaks audi charging me £166..im happy with that price

£180 to £220 is the normal pricing range for a first service /oil change from Audi..... When selling on if you want to sell it privately that is , having the posh Audi service is a big positive

Not just an oil service - Don't forget lending you a free car for the day, measuring each of your tyre depths in three separate places, Audi-cam, full quote for new ones, complementary paintwork scouring. The free cakes and drinks had definitely gone downhill in my dealership since last year though.

Were I am (Bradford) all the local Audi dealers within 40 miles are owned by Sytner and therefore have the same or thereabouts pricing.
I really can't be bothered shopping about at independents getting quotes to take to Audi. When you ask for a written quote they can smell a rat and are reluctant to supply one and I would rather keep the service history with Audi dealers anyway at the moment
I've already done one oil change on the car myself so I know what their mark up is and by how much they are pulling your pants down

I'll be taking the courtesy car this time wether I need it or not as a matter of principle lol
As for the complementary paintwork scouring, I asked them not to wash it last time and I have a nice video of them driving the car into the automated roller wash with the B&O cranked up, that was not pleasant viewing!
I actually quite liked the flapjacks last time but was disappointed they had no chocolate to put the Audi rings on my Cappuccino

Hi mate, did you have to push them for that price? I had my 1st service done by them when I had the S3 and had to push them to match Crewe Audi!

Yeah that is decent, think mine was £202 for the 1st one.

Same happened to me. I was half tempted to find out the blokes address, knock on his door, turn his TV on full volume then take a sh*t in his toilet and walk out.

Seems fair to me.

I was told that mine had had a complementary wash when I picked it up after its first for oil change, even though I told them not to wash it and it was noted on the paperwork. I had already looked when I picked it up before going in and fortunately it had not been washed. Perhaps the "please do not wash this car" signs left on the dash and on the centre console save it.

Quantum 507.00 oil (used by Skoda dealer's) is around £23 for 5 litres on eBay and I got genuine Audi filters for just over £6 each from Shrewsbury Audi on eBay. Just shows how much the dealer's rip people off.

That's what I use to do my own interim oil changes
I spoke to the dealer last week to nail a price down before my appointment and was quoted £299!
She said the car takes 6.7ltr of oil and the materials come to £167.
If the car was 3 years old then the price would be significantly cheaper, sorry but I don't get that!
I'm looking to get a quote from my local VW dealer and I'll take it there if it means not being ripped off by Audi dealers

Your local then are you?
To Cheshire Oaks yes, I bought the S3 and now the A5 from them after they price matched!

I got a great deal on the A5 (21.4% discount lol) but the GFV dropped even before I collected it! so the chances are I'll just be handing it back on the next change, which suites me as it means I don't have to worry about selling it privately or haggling on a px price, I can just go for the best price on the new one and take it anywhere :) Warrington Audi have great CS and I have a contact in there that helped me out on the A5 deal, even though I wasn't buying from them!!!

Edit* Just sent you a PM

I paid £261 for oil service only today. £140 an hour labour, good job I had 2 free cups of coffee eh!!

Does that hour labour include 20 mins with it sat in the car park, 10 minutes in the workshop and 30 minutes being washed and valeted?
Not to mention the 100% mark up on the materials!

I didn’t even get it washed and valeted pal, too many auto finesse products applied (if that’s possible), didn’t fancy the complementary paint scouring this time.

Yeah I got it last time even though I told em not to, I think in their eyes it helps to justify the inflated prices.

Looks like I'll also be drinking the Audi cappuccino again this time around.
Vw can't upload to the service schedule apparently

That's sounds like rubbish I'm afraid. A complete independent (not an audi dealer) updated mine with no issues

Lmfao. I do hope you are not being serious.

Yeah I've had quotes from independent garages who can update the online service but VW said no, not going to argue with them

It only makes a difference to the rookies, who don't know that generally, cars are treated better by indies than dealerships. People in the know, know that as long as OEM parts are used, the warranty has been left in tact, and well looked after, rendering 'dealership' service irrelevant.

Hmm very strange! Lol

Had mine serviced today £194.20 for 1st oil service at 10,600 miles, all covered by the lease deal thankfully.

@Audi Bairn cost will be of interest to you.

That is still expensive. I got that service done at my Audi dealership for $185.00 Cdn. that converts to 109 quid. Change of oil/filter only at 1500 miles.

When exactly is the first scheduled oil service on an S3? I see people claiming theirs has come up around 10k miles but the dealer told me the car will have the same variable servicing intervals as a regular A3, so first service in 2 years or around 18k miles.

Will it need an oil change sooner than this? I was contemplating getting the oil changed anyway around the 2-3k mark to get rid of all the running-in gunk in there.

S3/A3 don’t think it make a difference. Mine was set to variable but was changed to fixed by dealer when it was in. Not sure if that was standard practice as I had done approx 10k miles in a year or if it was requested by the lease company? Makes no odds to me, goes back next December anyway so if it needs one earlier they pay for it.

More info here on servicing.

Hmm, I do pretty much 10k miles pa but most of it is urban so looks like I might be better switching to the fixed schedule. Like I said I was going to have the oil changed after a few thousand anyway so maybe I'll just forget that and switch to the fixed schedule.

Sounds like they didn't make any money. How much was the oil?

What are people paying on full service's? i.e. Air filter, oil filter etc?

Cheers Barry.
I'm about 10k too now and just over a year I've had it.
Nowt appeared on dash yet though.

I forget, but note that was just an oil/ filter change only and no further inspections @ 1500 miles. I am on an Audi 4 year annual service plan, which includes a Haldex inspection and the total cost for that is 850.00 Cdn or 500 quid.
I have noted on this forum that U.K. prices are very high for servicing and also note that Audi Canada and USA have no two year or high mileage service intervals, only annual, for maintaining warranty. I would also think that in North America most vehicles would do more miles per annum than U.K. vehicles and that would include a lot of motorway driving.

So just to follow up on my original post, I booked the car in at Bradford Audi for the oil change service and asked while I was there how much it was?
The verbal price I was given was £258, which I thought was a lot but didn't question it at the time.
I then enquired at Leeds Audi and was given a price of £272 with another £20 off when i asked for a discount.
I rang Bradford Audi back and was quoted £299 (wtf) with again another £20 off when I asked for a discount .
I tried VW but they were a bit unsure over the online service recording part and so I left it at that.
A local independent quoted me £199 which I was tempted with but I'd rather keep the Main dealer history intact for any potential goodwill in the future and for resale time.
The nearest 5 Audi dealers are all Sytner owned so decided I would get a similar price from all of them.
The next closest to me is York Audi, run by JCT600. They quoted me £236 and after asking for a discount on that, came back with £176.....result!
Had it done today and it just shows how much some dealers take the Mick!
