oil filter housing valve

the engine management light came on other day so took car into audi, Problem was to do with a valve in the oil filter housing so all fixed under warrenty so happy again, The fact that they kept the part in stock make me think its not uncommon on 2.0l tdi correct?

Sounds like the oil pressure relief valve, could have stuck open or something.
