How often does everyone changetheir oil? Do you stick to the recommended oil service schedule? Personally I change mine every 3-4K as I do it myself . I average about 200miles per week.

Annually, which means about eight or nine thousand miles.

Ha, I can beat that, Annually, but I only do 4K miles during that time! Only used for long journeys on open roads.

I'm not sure that the voting options have been thought out well enough, though I can't give a better set of options! What I mean is, my 4K miles a year means I can say I only think once a year is okay, while also being every 4K miles.

On that score, I was at a car classic/vintage rally today and there was a model T Ford that typically gets used for 4K miles a year!

Good call. I'd think 'Every 5-10k' and 'Once a year' are the same answer for most.

This isn't meant to be disrespectful - with modern oils, you really are throwing money away, changing more than every year/ 12k miles (whichever is shortest).

I had an Evo a few cars ago and Mitsubishi recommended the engine oil was changed every 4.5k miles on that. I stuck to that for 1 year and went to every year or 10k miles afterwards, with no detriment. I just made sure I put in the best oil I could buy (Silkolene Pro S at the time). It was also making about 100bhp/ 100lbft of torque, or 25%, more than stock over that period. This was a pretty common practice for those on the MLR.

I'll do the same with the S4 but use Millers CFS NT+ as, IMO, it's the current best engine oil you can buy.

I put 3-5K, but in my case that's once per year.

Audi recommend 20,000 miles, but get it done every 10,000.

    Drive about 30,000 miles/year.

So, just come back from picking my car up from the service... Currently on 28k miles. Had oil change (last one was 14k miles ago), DSG oil change and front pads replaced (with DS2500's). The qualitative response to the question "what was the oil like" was "looked pretty clean actually". And I got the same response when I asked about the DSG oil. Had the DSG oil "filter" replaced too - will post pics of that at a later date as I asked for the old one so I could inspect it. Not been as brutal as @Dippy and haven't taken samples for analysis, but am pretty happy with that. Based on that, I will change engine oil yearly, DSG oil every second service (which are about every 12 months apart - I've had the car exactly 2 years tomorrow).

Only other fly in the ointment was the "you have a nail in the driver's side rear". I run PS4S's and the rears have ~5mm left.... Fortunately, the puncture was in far enough from the edge that it could be repaired. That would have made it a very expensive service...

PS. The oil I used was Millers Nanodrive long life (as I did last time - shout out to Opie Oils) and the Audi DSG oil
