OEM gear knob upgrade, A4 B8.5 2012, manual

I want to upgrade the standard leather perforated gear knob (6 speed) in my A4 to a nicer one from another Audi. I'd love the R8 gear knob, TTRS https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112595359009 or S1 , but i have been told that the TTRS won't fit due to misfit with the gear lever.

Does anyone know what Audi vehicle's gear knob would be a straight swap?

N.B, i'm only looking to replace the knob, not the gaiter.

Yeah, that is really nice one.
Think, majority if na all manual knobs will be fitted the same way. Just take the tie ring off (you would need to destroy it probably as I cut mine off) and secure it with either cable ties or hose clamp.
Search through various audi manual options to find “the one” and check its fitment. Compare it with your one and “Bob’s your uncle”

Yep i think the clip set up is very common, certainly across VAG cars, I had the same on my Golf GTI. The TT seems to have a thread though, which is a shame as there are a decent amount of TT knobs available and all look great. Not cheap though, all between £200- £300 depending on condition.

The other thing to consider is the diameter of the gear lever itself, too wide and the knob just won't sit on it, and i have no idea if they are the same size across vehicles.

But yes, it's marked as sold last week. I wish i had kept checking the classified for it, £100 is a bargain in my eyes.

BTW, a good mate of mine has an A6 LeMans, he tells me it fully kitted with every extra!
