Right then guys and girls.....

The long awaited event and day trip to a coastal town has now be finally decided.

We have decided to visit the historical town of Whitby in North Yorkshire.

The day will being with a lovely drive up through the North Yorkshire Moors and then we will arrive in Whitby.
We plan to stay there for a number of hours to do some sight-seeing and the classic Fish and Chips on the Harbour.

As we plan on arriving into Whitby as a group, I suggest a meeting point beforehand so we can convoy up.
This is where I need some help folks. We was suggesting a meeting point in or around Malton so we convoy up the lovely A169.
Have we got any members that can help me on the above?

Location:
Whitby
North Yorkshire
(Details a suitable car park in Whitby TBC)

Date:
Sunday 19th October 2014

Time:
09:00 - 10:00am (This will be the time of the pre-meet before the convoy upto Whitby)

As this is partially a road trip, please bear in mind your speed and safety of others. We plan to have a nice drive through the North Yorkshire Moor, which is a lovely scenic route with some good roads.
Remember there could possible be a large number in the convoy, so we need to stick together as when we arrive in Whitby, we hope that there will be a suitable sized car park, that we all can park within. (Details of the Car Park location in Whitby TBC)
Any ideas on car parks would be much appreciated aswell.

Many Thanks,

Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Team

One place in Malton is at Specialist Cars 22 Derwent Road, off B1248. This is in an Industrial Estate and the Big Fat Tour has parked outside a couple of times (see Facebook). They have run here for past couple of years.

ShaunS3 did this tour last year so he should remember how to get there if we get lost... (Fall guy!)

Going to try and get to this one, been a bit quiet with car troubles and work but cars fixed, works slowing down and I'm ready to get involved again!
Just got to convince our lass now because it's her birthday weekend...

I had used this first but my messaged had not appeared which I posted and at the time I was the only one to post and I was not on the list so I went back to the old method as I didn't see any results just the RSVP which went unnoticed!

Plenty of space to park and meet at Malton Industrial estate.

The biggest car park in Whitby and the quietest is the on near the Abbey, the only downside is it's a bit of a walk into the town centre.

I need to check what I'm doing first before adding my name, but would love to go

I too thought the car park by the Abbey would be a good place to park although some of the unfit members of the group may not like the walk back up the Whitby Abbey steps! I doubt they would be like me and try and run all the way back up... Ha ha :haha:

Why do you need to convince her? Bring her along for a nice drive to the seaside for hopefully some nice Sun, Sea, Seagulls, ice cream and fish and chips.

That's what I'm trying to do, she's not into cars, doesn't like Whitby much and didn't want to spend her birthday weekend doin car stuff, specially as I don't get many weekends off.
I'm trying my best lol

Good Morning,

Meeting Point for members to convoy upto Whitby is the following:

Malton Industrial Park
Seven St
Malton
North Yorkshire YO17 6YA

Meeting Time: 10:00am

Leaving Time: 10:45am

From the above location we will convoy up the A169 upto Whitby. The journey according to Google Maps will take us 60mins (Arriving in Whitby before or around 12:00).

At the moment, we are suggesting to park in The Abbey Headland Car Park (Abbey Lane, Whitby, YO22 4JT). This car park should accommodate all vehicles attending. However due to the location of the car park and the walk into Whitby Town Centre there is the challenging walk up and down the numerous stairs. Should any members, have any difficulties walking up or down the stairs or suggest any better suitable car park, please feel free to discuss.

Regards,
Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Team

Welcome to Audi-sport.net Lewis....

Will be nice to meet you. I'm sure you will get along with the rest of the clang....

I hope to join you all on this run, weather permitting, and it will be good to meet up with the group. I'll be coming along in my 8V S3 with John and his RS3. Met up with him today for a catch up and his new Scorpion exhaust sounds great.
