It's in the stickies but in case someone misses it, OBD Eleven seem to have released the new version yesterday (finally, I think it's almost a year since it was meant to be released, and still pro features only for Android).

Would be interested to hear from anyone that gets it to see what features can be enabled on the S3, in particular for me whether the exhaust valves can be easily disabled/enabled.

Amazon UK seem to be more expensive than OBD Eleven's own site at the moment, if anyone can find it cheaper would be interesting.

They seem to have sold out of the first generation device too, which I'm guessing will drop in price as the new one phases in.

I’m not sure their description of “next gen” is accurate unless it means (limited) iOS functionality and faster processor, all for a lot more money.

after you have ran out of the 200 credits for the pro-pack, you'd need to buy more.. then it comes really close to the price of a second hand original VCDS cable with the older unlimited VIN dongle.. granted, the wireless OBD dongle makes it a little easier if you want to keep it in the car, but the extra 4 seconds it takes to plug it in and to take it out after you're finished, and using a tablet instead of your phone, is no issue for me. So i'm still very happy with my purchase of an original VCDS unlimited cable years ago..

Other than buying and free credit (advert watching) is there any other way wink wink to get credits ?

I have 150 credits just from daily logins and ads. Only have it 4 weeks and apps are only useful for me if I’m unsure about the long coding for that feature.
Compared to a VCDS, for me, it’s sale of the century.

It's certainly there for the PFL just not listed under apps you have to connect to the car and go through adaptations

can't remember exactly the process but i'me sure it's central electrics you have to go on to then you will see listings like long coding and adaptations and access it from their.
it only works if you have factory fitted alarm otherwise you need to code your horn to do it . oh and you also have to activate it in your MMI
    1. Select Central Electrics (@ address Hex09)
    2. Select Security Access and enter the magic number 31347
    3. Select Adaptations and search for Acknowledgement signals
    4. Select yes for Akustische Rueckmeldung entriegeln if you want acoustic feedback for unlock
    5. Select yes for Akustische Rueckmeldung verriegeln if you want acoustic feedback for lock
    6. Select active for Menuesteuerung akustische Rueckmeldung (Acoustic lock menu)
    7. Shut-down OBD11 software and remove dongle -cycle ignition key and proceed to step 8.
    8. In-car procedure:
      1. Press the CAR button on the RHS of the infotainment screen
      2. Select SETUP on the bottom RHS of the screen (looks like a cog)
      3. Select Opening & closing panel
      4. Place a tick in Acoustic confirmation box. The facility can be turned ON/OFF via this switch

Ordered it at tea time via amazon. Bit more expensive than their own site, but I’m impatient and it’ll be here for 8am.

So guys I enabled the reversing screen via OBDeleven and now when I scan I get an error in central electrics, fault code U101400 - Control Module incorrectly coded. So I undid the reversing screen and now the error has gone. is this just something that happens when enabling the reversing screen ?

Quick update guys. My Pro next generation version arrived this morning, Sadly it’s heading back already. They advertised that the pro version comes with *pro and 200 credits*. It doesn’t, it comes with one or the other. Oh and the pro features aren’t available for iOS yet. So hold off wasting £100/120.

Is OBDeleven compatible with other OBD readers? I tried the IOS app with my Carista reader but it didn't work. Wondering if its because the Carista one is locked or something? Only really want to activate the dual phone support as this would be quite nice.

While Carista can use most generic Dongles OBDeleven will only use an ODBeleven Dongle from what I know.

I also enabled mine via OBDeleven but never bothered to look to see if it threw up codes , even if it did I would rather use the function as it's intended rather than disabling it again just because of an error code. will scan mine later to see if codes show up

So checked it and get the same error code as you but not really bothered by it so will leave it the way it is , would rather have something to give you a visual reference rather than just rely on the acoustics when reversing .

I have been investing in VAG - COM, VCDS HEX-USB and now VCDS HEX V2 and am very happy with it, but, I've recently become aware that OBD Eleven keeps itself updated with latest module S/W issues, so when a car gets scanned, the controller p/n is shown along with its present S/W version issue and includes any newer S/W versions that are available - now that could be seen as a very handy thing for anyone who is not up to date with the availability of S/W updates.
Maybe something that VCDS could consider adding.

For some reason most of the apps of the OBD eleven don't support my 2019 A3. Even those that support, enabling needle sweep for instance, don't change/add anything. Is there any way around it?

I’ve read the newer Models need bonnet open for some things to work with OBDeleven.

2019+ vehicles have a diagnostic firewall. With the firewall on you can scan for errors but coding changes require the firewall be disabled. How? As stated, pop the bonnet.

Hard for a car thief to open a vehicles bonnet as the pull / handle’s movement is blocked by the drivers door, which would need to be open and therefore set of the vehicles alarm etc etc

Is it not just as hard for thief’s to put something in the obd port? They still need to get into the car by open door or break window so alarm will be set off. Another lever to pull will slow them down momentarily. New Audi innovations or just a gimmick?
    Just my thoughts.

VW Group is a global company so have to look outside of the UK. Example, in many EU countries Audi don't supply the factory alarm we get as standard, its a paid optional extra, and extras are highly taxed in some countries. Very easy for someone to smash a window and gain access to the OBD port in order to install ghost keys / virtual keys, not so much with a firewall in the way.

forget we are somewhat spoiled in the uk. Other than my first car in the 90s all my cars have had factory immobiliser/alarm. Kind of expect it nowadays it should be standard across the world especially in luxury cars as every country has some sort of car crime.
only ever seen Japanese imports that has no factory immobiliser or alarms as supposedly car crime so low that people aren’t worried over there.

IIRC the pop up MMI screen was an option on the 8V too when launched (though standard in the uk - our only choice was screen size depending on MMI std or high).
