Number plate light fault

Hi all

I’ve tried searching but not found anything.

My left hand numberplate light is out and coming up on the DIS when I’ve taken the holder off the element in the bulb looks fine but the plastic around the points in the boot lid look like they’ve started to melt.

Is this a common issue and is it a case of buying a new holder?

Think its a common fault bulb over heating I'd get a new holder mate

If funds are tight or you cba to deal with rain corrosion your can solder small wires
