Hi
I am currently receiving an engine management light on the dash, reading the codes the fault is NOx Sensor Heater Sense Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1 Fault Code (P2209). I am also receiving a DPF fault code (P2002) DPF efficiency below threshold (Bank1)
I’m guessing these faults are working in harmony. Audi is an A4 b9 2016 2.0tdi 190 break. 110k miles. I have attached an image of my engine bay to also apologies for the filth, if any one could guide me in the direction of where this NOx sensor is located I’m not having much luck in my research. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Same engine, 130k miles, same faults. Have you resolved the issue?

NOX sensors are normally located in the exhaust system.

Did the changing of Nox sensor resolved the issue? I am having same fault P2002, with engine light on, and P2209 - Implausible Signal Intermittent - Not Confirmed.

From my experience this is an issue to resolve ASAP. I’ve researched and been picking peoples brains about these systems and from that I’ve got to this, when the NOx sensor fails the DPF will stop its automatic regen. This is a ticking time bomb as the car will eventually go into limp mode and thereafter stop starting not long after. Audi supply the NOx sensor for 500-600 my local parts store want 700. NOx sensors open up a can of worms as they communicate with the Adblue etc so it calls for Adblue when it needs it from reading the emissions passing through. You can pick a pattern part up off eBay for around 200, my local car breaker wants 300 for a genuine used sensor. The DPF on these engines are located under the turbo so if you do not get the sensor issue resolved and the DPF becomes clogged it’s a case of front bumper and turbo off. The sensor it self for me (bank1 sensor1) was located just before the turbo and the cable run into a slot just above the radiator / trim, easily accessible but you will need to cut grove out of a spanner to get over the sensor without cutting the wires. Keep in mind this is threaded into the exhaust so you don’t want to keep taking it on and off as from experience they will become threaded fairly easily. I hope this helps! Have to love the modern day cars

In my case looks like is the Nox s3nsor, and Egr cooler clogged. Looks like i will have a bit of fun with it, and i won't even try to go to Audi Dealership, due to bad experiences from the past. Will try to fix it in a Audi specialist garage. Yeah i know...long live modern cars... or maybe not that long :))
Thank you for your time and for your help.

Hey. Did you get it resolved please? Same car , similar mileage and same pair of faults coming out occasionally.

Hi, yes, egr cooler and valve changed. All problems dissapeared after. Part number for Egr cooler

Many thanks. Did you go with genuine parts? Would you be able to share a cost of repair?
Did you leave an old NOx sensor in place?

Only genuine, aftermarket will have problems with clogging too soon, the part i got it from Romania, from a salvage with 30k km, almost 2 years ago, still running smooth even now. It was much more cheaper than new genuine, which is around £500 at this moment. Nox sensor is the same, i just cleaned it, but the problem is from egr cooler.
