Hey. I've noticed over the last couple of days that when I accelerate at about 2k and can hear air coming from the deserter valve and then as soon as I get to about 2.3k it's quiet again and every time I change gear it sounds like its dumping loads of boost to air. Is this normal? I thought it was supposed to be quiet on the tdi's and divert it not dump it.

Strange. Ring a few garages and see if you can book in in for a boost leak test.

Did you ever resolve this? i have a similar issue on my S3 (2008) as you said it sounds as if boost is escaping for half a second with a very slight hesitation around 2500 rpm then is fine after that. I've had it into Audi as well as another garage but they cant find anything wrong.. no fault codes etc its very annoying and other than just start replacing bits i have no idea what else to look at.. If anyone else has any advice it would be very much appreciated.
