CANNOT BELIEVE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN SO SOON!!!!!
So driving back home from the petrol station last night, minding my own business when I noticed a rabbit shoot out in front of my car. Zero time to try and avoid it or slam on the breaks. I 'thought' it had gone under the wheel.......how wrong I was! Pulled over to the side of the road to inspect and found the rabbit wedged in my grille..........It gets worse!
Grabbed a pair of rubber gloves from the boot of my car to then try and extract said rabbit. On closer inspection the rabbit was still alive! (I wasn't expecting that) Tried to grab the only extruding limbs I could, the head and leg and the little s**t decided to wiggle backwards and ended up BEHIND my grille!
I'm now stood on the side of the road with a rabbit effectively in a ' rabbits cage' in the front of my car. Decision time, do I leave it there and sort out when I get home or figure out a way to remove him on the side of the road. I didn't fancy driving around with a half alive rabbit in the front of my car (the looks I would have gotten lol)
So the only way I could get it out was to make a rabbit sized hole in the grille to pull him out. As my grille was already broken by said rabbit, I just ripped some of the plastic trim away to make a large enough hole to pull him out. Grabbed the still very much alive rabbit and with a bit of tussle, pulled him out and chucked him on the ground. He ran off (slightly side ways) without even as much as a look back.
What's even worse is I hit a pheasant 3 months ago in my Audi A4, that also got wedged in my newly purchased RS4 style grille......luckily for him, he died on impact. A year and half ago, I hit a badger in the same A4. Prior to this, nothing and I've been driving/living in the same area for over 10 years. WTF.
How does the same **** happen to the same guy in such a short amount of time. I've only owned the car a ****** month. Luckily only the grille was damaged and a no part of the bumper. So managed to order a 2nd hand one of eBay for £40.
Few pics of the event. Rabbit lovers, look away now.
