Hi,
I am going to make some MP3 CDs to put in my multichanger, and rather than waste some discs I thought I would ask some questions on how to do this.

Can I have a file structure on the CD, or do I need to put all the MP3s in the root of the CD?

Does the head unit understand smart tags and therefore group tracks into virtual discs, or does it play the tracks in purely title order?

Thanks
Dan

Would be helpful to know what changer/HU?
Most MP3 compatible changers/HU's will allow a directory structure of at least one level. Everything is usually played in alphanumeric order, so ensure all tracks ripped from an album are numbered. Then use the album title as the folder name.
If you have a non MP3 aware HU and are just using an mp3 changer then I doubt you can store albums in folders, as the HU has no way to skip between them.

Cheers for the reply. The head unit is a Symphony and the car is MY06.

Any more advice would be appreciated.

Should be in the manual, but you'll have to just try it & see. Not sure how advanced the MP3 option is on Audi HU's.
