Alright folks.

I have a A4 b6 (130pd). It started to make a Loud Groaning noise when accelerating in all gears. It’s fine when idling and just setting off from a standstill. Clutch doesn’t slip, selects gears fine and nothing shakes. I’ve searched over the web and the inner cv has come up a few times. Can anyone confirm this ?.

Thanks.

Bad wheel bearings? My S4 developed a loud grumbling noise, didn't sound like a typical wheel bearing noise to me and because of that I convinced myself that the diff was at fault. As it turned out it was both rear wheel bearings. No apparent play in the bearings themselves but just became extremely noisy and droning.

If the noise is coming from one side I'd say it's most likely the above or could be loose bolts on the wheels (may sound unlikely but it's happened to me when running spacers and longer bolts, good job I heard the wheel wobble!).
