Facelift Noise under braking whilst using ACC

To you ACC users!

Does anyone hear a clicking noise when Adaptive cruise control applies the brake automatically (when the car in front slowing down). The noise is from the driver side and it feels like the relay clicks when the car is slowing down and also I hear a whirring/chirping type of noise on occasions. I cant say it does it all the time (if it does I do not always hear it) but it does it fairly often and it is noticeable if the radio is not on!

I just wondered if this is normal behaviour. I have provisionally booked it into my dealer but may cancel the appointment if is commonplace/normal.

Yes, I've noticed this on both our Golf VII and our S3 when using ACC. As you say, the assumption that it's some sort of relay would seem logical.

Yes heard it the other day, bit like the windscreen wipers sometimes have a click noise.
