Saloon Noise on full lock?

The last couple of weeks I have noticed when the car wheel is turned full lock noise from the wheel area of the car.

I am not sure what it is. It isn’t a loud noise; there is some whiring and maybe some light knocking. I can only hear it if I am not listening to music etc; its not loud.

But for that reason I am not sure if its always been there and I just noticed it recently or if its a potential problem.

Anyone else had this? Or know what I mean?

That sounds very similar to something I experience. I only get a brief, light knocking, it only happens when I reverse out of the drive and use full lock and only happens first thing in the morning (doesn’t happen again during the day in similar circumstances).
I’d concluded it was something briefly binding after overnight parking and so wasn’t particularly worried, but am interested in other feedback in case it is something to worry about.

I’ve had it!! I contacted Audi last week concerned and then it was gone on a dry road, mine does it on full lock all the time when the surface is wet.. never noticed it before in the last year but oh well. Sounds like a clunking

I had the same with my previous 2 S3’s
So I guess it’s normal

Any results on this ? I also have this on my rs and the best way to describe its like trying to turn on snow ...? I personally think it’s something to do with the diff ??

If you have a loud cracking sound, only then might it be a loose subframe.
if though the noise is 'felt more in the wheels' - maybe not the best description though - then it is probably quite normal which happens in many four wheel drives and rear wheel drives where the rear set of wheels pushing the car forward overrides the front wheels trying to turn on full lock, hence the feeling of turning on snow. There are many terms attributed to this - crabbing, hopping, skipping etc. To eliminate this being the issue try turning on full lock very slowly and it should not be felt.

Yes, I would say mine is the latter and something which I thought may be normal, given it happened in my last two 4WD cars.

I'm willing to bet all you guys have the stock P zero tyres on right? I changed mine to PS4S's and creaking stopped. Amazing.
