Something strange happened the other day. Started up my car (1.8TQS) and idled normally, fiddled with radio then moved off on idle only.
Pushed accelerator and absolutely nothing happened. Car still idling (tho mildy erratic) sat for almost a minute with car idling and accelerator having no effect whatsoever. Killed engine, then restarted and drove off no problems.
Car had been sat unused for two days. No engine lights or anything.
Could the MAF cause this problem at all?
I ask that cos vag com previously showed up a maf problem but I assumed it was down to the authentic audi cable tie having slipped

:faint:

(not my doing. Previous owner. Don't ask how I never noticed...)

Finally fixed my broken electric mirrors, got parts to fix my central locking and traction control getting sorted soon and then this happens! There's always something :crying:

I take it you have a drive-by-wire throttle car, very rarely, but it does happen, the ECU can't detect the signal from your digital throttle sender/sensor and you get what you described happen. this is the second time I've ever heard it happen in 7 years of Audi ownership to give you an idea of how rare. Ideally, you would want your car diagnosed with VAG-Com to see if any fault codes has come up and be stored to show you the problem, if it's clear, then you shouldn't need to worry.

Ran vag-com and got this:

:slapped:

Cleared them all, drove home and checked again. Just the steering angle sensor came up.
Whats the auto HVAC? not sure I like the error on instruments either.
