No Drive!!!!

Hello everyone,

Just bought myself a 53 plate 2.0tdi a3 and i got my first problem . The car start and goes into gear but theres no drive. The clutch pedal feels very springy and vibrates ALOT. dunnno what the problem is, whether its the clutch or something else?

Need Help!!

Sounds like the master cylinder...a bit of a sod but 10x better than a clutch !

surely if it was either of the clutch cylinders then you wouldn't be able to get it into gear?

When you let clutch back out is there no difference at all, like in the revs etc? Did it give you any signs that the clutch was slipping?

To hazzard a guess, if there was no signs prior to this, sounds like the clutch plate could be seized on the output shaft.

yup, certainly not with engine running. What you reckon, whack gearbox bellhousing with copper mallet LOL.

It goes into gear without pressing the clutch, and there is no difference at all when i let the clutch back up just vibrates alot and feels springy.

my money would be on the clutch pressure plate...

It's stuck and wont engage...
