So finally got new wheels (thanks to those who helped on that one) but they're catching. Gone for some genuine Audi 18 inch wheels, fitted them last night but they're definitely catching on the front and I think rears as well. Fonts are touch the steering arms and make an awful noise and smell when moving (see pictures). Would wheel spacers move them away enough to stop them catching? If so what size spacers? Will get more pictures to show the fitment better.

From what I can see spacers should sort that, I've got a set of 10mm (for fronts) and 15mm (for rears) with bolts and everything for sale, if interested drop us a pm.

They're 18 inch, 8J, 245/40/18 tyres. Don't know the offset to be honest.

Hmmm. Spacers gunna help at all or not really?

Spacers will stop it rubbing the part you mentioned but I presume it's the arch @aragorn is talking about so it's best to measure how far you have to play with between the tyre and arch using a ruler then worst comes to worst might be best running more narrow tyres too, 245 is crazy wide on 8j better off running a 225 none XL in my opinion (if it comes to that, might be fine with just spacers).

Think there's plenty of room on the arch to be honest. I will take the advice on tyres but don't want to change these just yet as they're essentially new, the main reason I bought them. I'll report back when the spacers are fitted. Really hoping they do sort it though as the missus is fed up of chauffeuring me to work!

When you move the tyre outward to clear the upright, it will probably instead start catching on the wing.

When I bought my wheels they came with 245 tyres, the fronts will catch the as you say, I am running 225-40-18 on 18in 8J wheels, offset 43
I had to change the tyres and sold the 245 to a used tyre place.
