Hello, I'm Dom, 22 from Leeds (23 in a few days, getting old).
Come Saturday I will be collecting my new car, 2010 Audi A3 1.8TFSI Black Edition in Phantom Black, I went and viewed it earlier on in the week and just couldn't say no!
Here is a picture I took one the day
Here's a collection of my car history:
First of all was my Escort 1.3, which I purchased for the lovely price of £525 back in July 2008, didn't let me down in the two years I owned it, flew through every MOT easily, was solid in all the right places...I still regret selling it now! Only thing I changed was to buy some colour coded bumpers
Then, I purchased my first GTI badged car, 2001 6N2 Polo. Cost me around £2200 at the time, low mileage, good condition overall. I did a few bits and bobs to it over the year I owned it, lowered 30mm all round, 16" BBS alloys and just a general tidy up. Still the best looking car I've owned, I would always catch people admiring it.
When I got it:
One of the last photos I took of it
After that Polo, came another Polo. 2007 Polo GTI purchased from Bolton VW (set of basterds, the whole process was a nightmare, I should of just taken the car back really, it was cursed from the start). Only owned this car from about 9 months, as it ended up in a ditch, on fire, with me stuck inside it! Luckily I took out gap insurance so got back all that I paid for it. The car had already been modified by the previous owner, black roof/mirrors, remapped and a Forge DV. The quickest car I've owned to date, would spin the wheels in 3rd easily, even when I had Michelins on. During the time I owned it, I lowered the car by 35mm, had the wheels refurbished in anthracite and various other small stuff, typical it was just after I had got everything done (including cambelt/water pump, 4 brand new michelins) that it was written off, oops!
Just before I lowered, the cleanest picture of it, so shiny
I miss it
And then my current Polo, bought as a replacement for the red one in June 2012, but just didn't feel the same and I've never been happy with it since the day I bought it. Also needed work when I bought it, front pads, rear discs and pads, cambelt water pump, 2 new tyres, a few engine valves were faulty causing bad idle and EML to come on.
Dashboard rattle on a Polo? No problem!
So yeah, hi!
