New to the C7

Small update... Fitted a rear spoiler today! Actually quite like it. Subtle enough but still a bit different

Where did you get it from? pre-painted or did you have it matched/painted?

Another update... I purchased a K&N filter and fitted it yesterday! My old one was really dirty and had a manufacturing date of 2012!!! So can't say if it's been changed or not...
New one sounds better also imho

does the K&N make any noise? not sure if they do one for the 2.0?

it lists one for the 2016, but nothing for 2017
Drop them an email! But since your car is new and under manufacturers warranty it might invalidate it!?

i'm not sure, doubt an air filter would cause any problems! i guess i want to have a tinker with the car, struggling to find anything to do to it!

Evening all...
Well I received my DTUK Tri channel box today, cheers Andrew for the prompt delivery...
I just finished fitting it, took around 20 mins in total! Little fiddly but only cause I've got chubby fingers... lol

Once fitted I went for a drive when the car was warmed up... Initial thought was it certainly feels a little quicker but nothing to boast about!
So I then went through the selectable pre loaded maps on the box. Went through them all one at a time!
And OMG the car has been transformed... Granted it was no slouch to begin with however the lag was pretty bad! It's a completely different animal now... It's a going through the gears effortlessly and power delivery and torque is pure mental! Tyres are almost spinning (granted it's pretty greasy out there) through the gears! Programme 2 and 3 worked best for me.. I've left it on programme 3 with the 3 + indicator led lights on!
Took the Mrs out and she felt like she was on a fairground ride!
Can honestly say if you're thinking about buying one do it now... My only regret is waiting nearly 3 months deciding if I should!
As for MPG increase it's obviously a little soon to say, so I'll update as and when! But I expect this to decrease during the honeymoon period... lol

I'm certainly going to do this but got to wait for my car to arrive yet, run her in and get a feel for the stock performance before adding a box.

I am however curious to know how you came around to choosing a DTUK box.
Having researched on the forums TDI appear to be well known and, for my engine at least, appear to produce better gains.

I'm sure you did your own research so I'd be interested to know what made to pick this unit, just in case I'm missing something.

Thanks

Valid question indeed... For me it was more about reliability and if any issues were to occur how would it be handled as opposed to the claimed figures! The deciding factor came when I put up a post on a 'Audi Owners Club' page on Facebook to ask which was best... 90% stated DTUK was the best! They've also sold 25k units so far and are by far the best in regards to being able to solve any potential issues... My best friend whom just acquired a A4 B8.5 2.0tdi had one fitted, I had the pleasure of being able to try it out before/after the fit... And that was a massive improvement!
One thing was suggested to me by the owner of DTUK was not to change the programme immediately but to give it a day or so to ease it in so the car gets used to it gradually! Otherwise it could throw a wobbler and check engine light will go on... So I put it back to the original settings and will give it a few days before I gradually up it a notch or

Insurance? Told them? Increase? Did you tell them it was for economy only?

Show us your fitting how stealthy have you made it??

Yeah told insurance. Renewal was just done and it's £180 more than without. They never asked what it was for performance/economy..
The heavens have opened so I'll get a pic once it's calmed down a bit!

Can't decide ... on which brand? I.e. DTUK or TDI?
Any thoughts and considerations you've gathered in the process?

Great that you got such a positive response and no doubt gave you confidence.
What feedback did you hear about TDI then, if any?

DTUK support is second to none... Andrew is only a phone call away always, and there's no such thing as a silly question! I wanted a good balance performance/economy so chose the DTUK box... And when I was in the same boat as yourself swithering on which one to buy I asked on Audi Owners Club Facebook page and the overall perception was DTUK is the best... Even speaking to my local re-map place he couldn't say a bad thing about them!

I spoke to them directly and got on quite well with them. But wasn't 100% sure if I should go twin or triple channel... But when I put the question to the people in the know they all said DTUK Tri channel....

Ah, the tiptronic box. You are fine then, that torque converter box can handle a lot.

I went specifically for the multitronic as I love the CVT, but my problem is the 3.0 v6 is at 400Nm standard and the box is only continuously reliable at up to 450Nm from what I read. That's only a 12.5% increase, is it worth it? That's my dilemma.

Not too clued up on the multitronic but I'd be scared as well! Torque on mines went up by 100nm.. So probably worth giving them a call and asking what's the best option! Ask for Andrew... You could always put it in a lower setting and take advantage of better MPG!?

As I don't have 'Audi Connect' in my car I wanted 'Screen Mirroring' from my mobile/tablet on my MMI screen... So after a little bit of digging about I set about buying the following!

HDMI to TV HDTV Cable Adapter for Android Phone Tablet (You can buy an Apple equivalent if you wanted to mirror an Apple device)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301561800291?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

All connected in this order to the AMI port... I'm pleased to say it worked great! Pics to follow once I have a chance!
Having 'Video in motion' activated will make this feature must more usable! Sound quality was great and so was the picture quality when the phone was in 'Landscape' mode.
Well chuffed and it only cost around £40 (Not including the phone/tablet)
