I'm a new owner of a 2018 RS3 since March. Very satisfied with the new slightly used RS and the way it drives and performs. Looking forward to enjoying chatting with all of you on this forum.
I hope you can help me out with a bit of a concern. After I just got the car and being unfamiliar at the time, I tried to put the transmission into S and Dynamic, but instead of pulling the 'shifter' directly back from D to S, I pulled it back and to the right and it went into manual mode M1 instead. Then I drove off and gave it a moderate amount of gas and soon realized it was revving quite a bit until I realized it never got out of 1st gear. Did about 200 feet to the end of the road. Car got to about 30-40 mph, on mine 60kph. If the car has a rpm limiter that would reassure me but unsure if it does and could there be potential engine damage? What should the dealer verify, if it is a valid concern? I don't see any signs of engine problems, can't tell if engine compression has been affected in any way, or any other problems.
Thanks,
Rob
