SQ5 New SQ5 Owner

Hey guys,

Hope you are all good?

I have been off the scene for a while but used to be very active on the forums when I had my Mk1 S3, I moved from there to an 2.0 TFSI quattro B8 A4, which last week made way for a 2017 SQ5 (Petrol).

First impressions are wow, what a vehicle!!

I have been looking for one for ages but wasnt in a rush and wanted one with the right spec and this finally came up, so we snapped it up!!

I echo what Sandra says; I returned to Audi last December with a 2018 petrol V6 SQ5. And yes, “wow, what a vehicle“ sums it up perfectly.

I can't even think of anything that needs doing to the car as it ticks all the boxes. The car has a great spec on it and only missing the memory seats.

I did try and add the beep when locking the car as its something I am missing. I tried it using the Carista app but it didn't work for some reason, do we know if this is possible?

I will get some pics up this week.

Just a little update, I tried the beep and got it working, it was set to alarm beep but then I tried it on the horn and now it works.

Its not very loud, but if you know its there it makes the difference and gives the reassurance that its been locked.

I finally got round to enabling bleep on lock with Carista. Weirdly, it bleeps if I lock using the remote or by brushing the sensors on the passenger side doors, but not if I brush the sensors on the driver’s side doors or press the lock and lower button on the tailgate.

That's strange, I would try various options and see if it makes any difference at all.

I just wanted to see whether the remote services was worth it with the option of knowing if the car has been hit or being able to remote lock/unlock as well.

Have you managed to connect your car to the myaudi app? I can't seem to get past the 3rd step attached on my 2018 q5. What I believe to be the 10 digit code on my key doesn't seem to work.

I currently use carplay, but the map can't be put onto the VC screen which bugs me so I was wanting to try and use google maps in the audi connect app, similar to the image from the brochure.

Hi @will_0407 , I did manage to get the car connected, I didnt have the 10 digit code, however the Audi Partner managed to get it sorted for me. There is a user on here @creweaudiparts who put up a post a while ago saying if anyone needs help with the app, then he may be able to assist. We use both Carplay and Android Auto and they both work well, but as you say it doesnt work on the VC, not a deal breaker for me and certainly not going to spend for that just to show up in the dash, the central screen and the voice is enough for me...lol.
