New s3 - a few questions !

Hi all, a while ago i had a w plate pre face lift s3, but i have now bought a new face lift 51 model . I have a couple of questions as in my old one i had heated seats with dash control i had cruise control and i had a larger screened heater control panel.

My question is were these all optional extras and i can i retro fit, with any ease any of the things different as i did like the cruise control and heated seats . I was uner the impression that they all had these things !!

Any help on this would be greatly received, Thanks Steve.

Steve,

Heated leather was an option as was cruise control, The larger screen for the A/C was changed over with the general facelift.

Cruise control can be retro fitted quite easily & cheaply but the seats will cost a lot more as you'll need seats with the heating panels installed

Thanks for the reply, for the heated seats is the wiring likely to be there ?

Also i fit the older style heater panel ?

The aircon panel you will have to live with, the pre facelifts had a larger screen, and the old one wont fit into the new car.

As for cruise, that's easily retro fitted, although heated seats would be a tough one, unless you bought a new interior with heated seats, and got hold of the heated seat switches and loom.

As I understand it none of the wiring would be in place for the heated seats, it's possible to do but at a guess you'd be looking at circa 1k to buy the seats and have them installed etc etc

as said above cruise can be installed easily for about £100 (ish), if you know how to do it you can buy the parts for vag parts for less.

Why do you want to change the facelift dash aircon panel to a pre facelift???

Or have i got the wrong end of the stick???

Thanks for the advice above. Im not really bothered now about the air con panel the old one looked like it did more but thats wrong !! as for the seats maybe down the line i'll install them but not suree yet . thanks for the cruise control link alijames
