Hi all!

I have just signed all my paper work to confirm my purchase of the Audi S1!!! I had an Audi A2 for my first car 4 years ago and since I got rid of the A2 I have always wanted another Audi.

I have decided to purchase an S1 and can honestly say I have never been so excited for anything in my life (so far) I wished I could of drove it away tonight when I left The Audi garage. On Friday I will post photos of my new Audi S1! It will be Vegas yellow with the Quattro exterior design, I won't be sleeping till Friday!

Are you buying from a dealer I presume? :)

I have everything minus the button start, and I'm not sure about folding mirrors. Other than that I think I have everything, which is nice!

Edit: If I have the Design Pack then I should have mirrors too :D

Thanks Jose! How long have you had your s1?
When you got yours what was the very first thing you did in it? Took it on motorway or?

Had it since 20th Sept. We picked up my Wife's Octavia vRS on the same day, so went and got mine then onto the New Forest to get hers.
What a testing ground that is! It excels on a B-road :)
And quite some looks we got cruising round in brand new bright yellow and green machines on a sunny day too!
You'll have to get used to people stopping you as you get out and saying they love your crazy car! Happens to me a couple of times a week!

Mine is coming from Harrogate Audi to Leeds Audi (I work there lol). We did have a Vegas Yellow S1 that I was going to buy but someone came in on Saturday and bought it before me :grumpy: That one did have just about everything bar the sunroof!

So they found me another one at Harrogate, turns out I don't have Cruise Control (I'll just retrofit myself), parking sensors or the Aluminium Gear Knob. This one also doesn't have the Gloss Black Pillars, but I may look into getting them wrapped as it does go well with the yellow

They are very different cars. Octavia wins for a long journey, S1 for fun.

I had an SQ5 before the S1 and actually the S1 and the vRS are for sale right now as I have the new RS3 coming in Nov.

RE waits. You guys are experiencing nothing! I ordered my SQ5 in Jan and it came in May, the S1 in April it came Sept, the vRS in Feb and it came Sept and the RS3 April and coming Nov!!

I bet you are so excited for the RS3! In 3-5 years time after my S1 I will probably get an S5 or something along those lines. Don't think I will ever swap car manufactures now. Was your SQ5 really comfy?

Yea, it was a wicked car. I was the best of all worlds, but in the end I missed the nimble nature of a smaller car so went to the other end of the scale with the S1. The S1's downfall is it is not that practical, so I'm hoping the RS3 will be a good compromise between the two.

That said - if you don't have a family... the boot can fit my cricket bag / suit cases in nicely - so it's not awful on that front! I did have two adults in the back for a 5+ hour journey, though, and I think they were pleased to get out at the end ;)

I don't have a family and I'm still young so the S1 is perfect for me! If I went away for the weekend with my girlfriend would the boot fit 2 suit cases? How much does it cost to fill the tank?

£50 a tank of super unleaded which will be good for just over 300 miles on an eco run, 280 ish for normal driving. Click the fuelly pic on my sig for details as I track every tank.
Yes, weekend away for two is no problem.

The Audi Drive Select has Eco/Auto/Dynamic. Dynamic is the equivalent of sport (it stiffens the suspension, sharpens the throttle response and enables the sound generator so it makes a better noise). Note that if you leave it in Dynamic, when you get back in the car you have to cycle Auto>Eco>Dynamic again to get it to really be in Dynamic - you'll hear the engine note change when you do it. It's a (annoying) 'feature' of all S/RS cars according to Audi!

Not as much as you'd think, but they are still looking after me!

And yeah, I started there in March as a technician,so I've been doing PDI's over the last few months, driven lots of S3s, various RS6s and RS4s! The best was a fully spec'd up RS7, over £100k worth of car...the noise it made :hubbahubba:

I drove an R8 V10 Plus 2 years ago at an Audi Sport Showcase. It's mental! Also had a go in the RS6 - which is just as mental but in barge form! I nearly rear ended the first car I went to overtake as I wasn't expecting it to move so quick when already doing 60mph!
I'd have to have some serious spare cash to own one though as the R8 is definitely a weekend only toy and to run the RS6 as a daily you'd need to tow a fuel tanker behind it!
Last year I went in the RS7, RSQ3 and S5 - the RS7 is basically as the RS6, but seemed keener to let the rear end break loose (which is a pant wetting moment in a car that big!). The RSQ3 I didn't really get, the engine was awesome, but the rest of the car was like the worst of all worlds (unlike my SQ5 which was best of). S5 was surprisingly good, I thought it would be a bit boring, more of a fast cruiser, but it felt really nimble.

The car in the lineup I've not tried yet is the TT-S - reckon that should be damn good from what I've heard.

I'm not bothered by the RS4/5 - not sure why as I love a V8! I think I'd rather just go whole hog with the RS6/7 if I was going that direction.

With an S1 on the way you should definitely be eligible for your local dealerships showcase event. Make sure you let them know you are interested.

You've drove a lot of audis! Where was the Audi sport show? I'd love to go to that, my local Audi dealership? What would I have to do? Just turn up in my S1 for the day and let people look at it?

They host them all over the country. Basically the dealership hire a fancy hotel or similar for the day (I'm doing one at Haynes Motor Museum tomorrow as it happens!), and you can take out the cars for about 40 mins each unaccompanied.
They also lay on breakfast and lunch for you. All for free. They invite their 'prestige' customers along, so an S1 qualifies. Just ask when their next showcase is and they'll put you on the list of invitees when it comes up.

The new TTS sounds absolutely beautiful, and drives even better with S-Tronic...the burp when you shift up is so addictive. Even just the normal TT is a hoot to drive, and the dashboard layout in them is something else!

It's the dash that stopped me wanting one. I like it but it needs a central screen as well as I often have my passenger doing stuff on the MMI.

What cars are you going to drive today mate? When I go in Friday I will ask them about it.. Thank you for telling me:relaxed: I agree that the TT needs a central dash that's what put me off getting one, I wanted an S3 in Nevada green I think the colour was? But it was too expensive for me atm. Hopefully the plan is to part exchange my S1 for an S3 when the time is right
