Hi everyone,

Thought I'd share a few photos of my new purchase.

So a few weeks ago, I was asking about some advice about possibly purchasing an RS3. After finally biting the bullet I did it!

Here it is the day I got it!

Didn't take my long before I started messing around with it. First thing put shorter number plate on the back and front.

Problem was I need to shorten the front plate recess first. So just put it in the windscreen for now. Gave it a quick clean whilst I was at it!

Lovely purchase! I've had mine since october and I'm in complete love with it!

I have a forge intercooler to install next month but I'm debating on what to do with the number plates myself at the moment. Love the open grill but it does attract a little too much attention at the same time.

As for other mods though, I got it home and 30 mins later had installed LED number plate lights and LED front and rear indicators haha.

Thank you, I love mine too!

Currently I'm looking at fitting the audi A5 led number plate lights, but need vcds first. Which indicator led lights did you use? Have you got a pic of what they look like?

They are the A5 ones, but as bobby has said you need to use VCDS to enable them.

Just ordered my A5 number plate lights from TPS. Has anyone tried to fit the reverse LED lights you get on some audi models?

I tried others but it just comes up with a bulb blown error

So bought some h+R springs, not had much luck. Firstly rear passenger side wheel locking nut was so tight, it snapped the locking wheel nut. So £40 for a new one from TPS. Then driver side arb drop link, bolts were so tight, have to angle grind it off tonight and get buy a new one!

my local roads are more potholes than roads and when I put the progressives on my A3 in place of the S-Line springs it was like a whole new car. been a bit unsure whether or not to do it to the RS and don't want a full coilovers

So manage to get them fitted tonight finally! And they look the dogs b*llocks! I've taken them over speed bumps and not had an issue. Only got a few photos as it's too dark

That looks great! but now you need spacers :D

How are they with bumps etc? are they as harsh and unforgiving as OEM or better?

Haha I was thinking that... I'll see what it needs.

It was Ok on the bumps, but I crawl over them, I have always done this. I prefer how it is now, not that stiff but feels much firmer!

I had 12mm front and 10mm rear on my A3, but the RS3 wheels are about 11mm wider IIRC so the rear sits fine but the front still hiding due to the wider arches. Maybe 10-12mm then?

Yeah I don't race over them but round here is worse than the country side for potholes and exposed cobble stones lol... not what you want with race springs!

Currently don't think the fronts are too bad, but I'll let it settle for a bit longer. Ye I know what you mean about the pot holes, my m3 e36 won't even go over the bumps. Have to go the long way around lol!

Off topic, but what progressive springs did you use on your A3 S-Line?

Great looking RS3, the springs have dropped it by a good amount, it's sitting just right.

I used Eibach Sportlines, and they made one heck of a difference

Car looks really good. What drop do the H&R springs give?

I ordered the 034 motorsport gearbox insert and scorpion secondary decat pipes. I was going to attempt to fit them myself but luckily got a friend who works at Kwik fit and had a free ramp (the bolts were in horrible condition for 25k miles. For once I was the apprentice ha!

I noticed there was a little blow near the clamp (you can see in the pics), so I'm glad I changed them. Nice subtle deeper tone from the car now, definitely feels much more free when driving!

Hmm tbh feels a bit sharper but can't feel too much of a difference, as I'm still getting a slight noise when changing gears... Off back to Audi tomorrow! Gosh 5th time lucky lol.

Ye decats one of the best mods ever. Sounds amazing!
Looks good, is the car all back and fixed now Bobby?
Cheers! Not quite, bevel box changed, but still got a slight noise when changing gears or on accelation. As I said above, back off to Audi tomorrow, let's see if it's a characteristic!

Is the noise more of a knock? if it is I'm fairly certain you need the clutch adaption reset. mine was aweful and probably the worst part of the car until I had mine done.

The dogbone insert makes for a sharp gear change by eliminating the movement of the engine. if you put your foot down you will notice it more. The adaption changes how harsh the clutch engages. Do them both and your at the same point I am and it feels so much better

Ye it's when you initially accelerate.

Would that be covered under warranty?

Btw got Audi to agree to do the clutch adaption under warranty. It's going in next Wednesday, which is great as I'm off to VW days in France on Friday with the car. So will be a great test!
