Now I am not into reg plates and therefor wouldn't spend thousands on one.

Looking today through, there is a reg plate S3 WEE for a small fee.
What you guys reckon? Naff or Funny.

Wee I would interpret as fast, exciting, not as in urine lol

I guess that’s what makes us individual. If everyone had the same opinion the world would be a sad place.
I think some plates look nice, I have 1 myself as a Christmas present off the partner and I have to say it’s somehting that when I see it and think about her buying it for me it’s nice. Where as how many gifts are you given and forget about.
    Horses for courses imo.

Agreed, they really are personal preference and the clue is in the name with 'personal plate' they mean something to the owner and no body else. I have one myself and so do 2 of my brothers, my parents and my sister in law.

I do have to agree with Ken about some with dodgy spacing however (been there and done it myself) they can look good but ultimately are illegal and when spaced correctly don't always look like what they're supposed to say.

That said not sure about the S3 WEE lol

Haha back when I were a youngster and I paid the fines. I've had my TOM plate for the last 10 years at least now, so no need for dodgy spacing.

I personally like the idea of private plates but not to extent of illegal spacing or font.
What’s the point of attracting unwanted coppers attention?

Recently bloke passed by me on the road with reg N33D P.
He was bouncing between lanes like a mad man so presume he really “need it” Lol

Agreed. I don't mind them and we have them in our family too. The thing that makes them look cheap imho is the illegal spacing and tampering with characters to make them look like something else. eg. Putting a black dot / screw cover between two 1's to make it look like an H

I agree with the above comments. I think illegal spacing ect looks a bit chavy and cheap even on expensive cars such as lamborghini's, not saying I don't like them it's just my initial thought. Although I think a nice private reg which is personal to yourself is brilliant. You could imagining your name was Lee Sarah Davis ;) you could have S3 LSD. Or if you were called Lee Sarah Jane Davis you could have L2 SJD. I have done the same with my initials T2 ---

I hope you kinda get the joke there lmao

The thing is, if I was to get one realistically I would need to get a good one.

All my family members have then with their birth year, for example my sister has 82 TD (this isn't her real reg for obvious reasons) which means she was born in 1982 and is called Tara Davies.

I would Ideally have 88 LD but somebody has it on an Aston Martin DB9 Volante :D

    Looks like the search continues.

My initials are a nightmare too as anything with LAD is expensive.

If my initials were LAD I wouldn't bother.

People would just think you were being a "lad", no?

The plate would be for me, not others.
My initials are LAD so LAD would be correct to have.
Also something like 88 LAD does't have a "chavvy" meaning such as S3 LAD does, I would presume people would see 88 LAD or similar and guess it is my initials.

You wouldn't bother with a plate anyway would you?

I love a personalised plate, especially as mine spells my name exactly as it is. The worst ones are the initials I find. Absolutely pointless as they are just random letters when other people see them!

Once I searched KKK on plates but quickly ditched this idea for obvious reasons. Wouldn't drove too far with it on the car.
Two K's for my initials and 1 additional I used to use in all nicknames, as of City I was born in.

Just searched a plate I had an idea on and it isn't that expensive £166

I dislike PPs. I know my initials and find the whole concept a bit sad. Many PPs make the car and owner look like an A1NOB in my opinion.

Fine but as stated above, these "personalized" plates are for people who own them and they have a meaning to them, not others.
If you would mind what others think, you would do many things, wouldn't you.

I just came up with a plate stating first letters of myself, wife, children and our surname, with number of the year car was first registered. This means a lot to me, as value my family over anything or anyone else.

Is there not also an additional cost each time you remove it from a car and/or put it on another?

As an A1NOB, the last time I looked it was £80 retention fee which includes reassignment too, each time you transfer it.

I did see a Subaru once that had (and spaced this way) U N08 HED lol

£80 retention fee which includes transferring to a new vehicle as @Audi Bairn says, I think it lasts 10 years too now as opposed to 1 year like it used to.

I put **14 DAD on a car I bought for my father for the then minimum all in fee of £250. It’s a bit cheesy, but he likes it. ** in this case are his initials and mine.

One comment not made is that even if a plate means nothing to others, you’re more likely to remember one that means somthing to you!

I can remember every single numberplate my family have ever had 50+ cars. Fortunately I do not need a PP due to memory failure yet but I'm in the market for A1NOB and will pay up to £50 for it.

Agreed. I 've had the same PP for the last 12 cars over 24 years. My wife has a similar plate to mine on her last 6 cars over 22 years so obviously we both like PPs. Some people do, some don't. Each to his/her own.
