mine will be adjustable height and dampers allowing me to adjust how firm the ride is and also the hight of the car.

i think they will allow me to adjust the hight from 25mm to 90mm

i know on the Golf MkIV you could lower the car by 120mm but you had to do adjustments with a few things.

im not fitting it myself im sorry to say as i had a good quote to have them fitted when they come and it worked out better for me..

but do not fear... pictures will be taken when i get it sorted.

Karcsi - yeah a smokers tooth bruth from the supermarket and some tar remover works good.. although still have a long way to go untill they are perfect..

If you have ajustable height, how easy is it to change the height/firmness? Do you have to take it in to the dealer/specialist?

Any need to have tracking and such like checked between setting changes?

To lower a car, so both the dampers and springs have to be changed, or shorter springs enough? Or does it depend on how much shorter I want the springs (lower the car) to be?

Fitting coilovers or any springs isn;t thatmuch of a job if you can wield a set of spanners.

I've done the suspension on quite a few cars now!

Adjusting the height on coilovers is pretty straight forward but can be a complete pain getting all four corners at the same height - sounds easy but it's not trust me on this.

Adjusting the damping, depending on the kit, is very quick and simple to do. Most of them can be done on the car - well on the front anyway. A lot of them require the shocks to be removed from the rear though.

You should always get the tracking checked after adjusting the height of the car. Ideally you need to let springs settle before getting the tracking done - either a week or about 500 miles is normally enough during which time you can play around with the height tll your happy.
