My BMW 335d has now sold and I have Just agreed the purchase of my new s4 :) Super excited and the fastest standard car I have had.
Got plenty of toys on it so really looking forward to ownership. I never realised you could get surround sound in a car or a 7 speed DCT.

Don't pick it up until the weekend which seems like ages away

So, who maps these new B8 engines? Can only find limited details on an MTM tune but its in Euro figures. Are they the only one.

MRC are also known for their Audis, so if anyone can, I would imagine it would be them.

I've been in touch with Star Performance, who are calling me back with a quote for a Milltek and Remap.
Stroll on the weekend, you'll love the car!!!!

FINN, where a bouts are you up here?
I was on the STAR website but it looked a bit out of date or didn't mention the S8 engine. Did you get any quotes?

You went for the S4 in the end then ;-)

What spec / colour?

Yes, little bit of an impulse buy on the one I have went for as it had lots of toys I liked the sound of. I still haven't driven an s4 or saw one in the flesh!

You might laugh at the car though as reading your sig its pretty similar.
2011 IBIS white, S tronic, Leather and alcantera, heated seats, HDD sat nav, DAB radio, Black exterior styling pack, hill hold assist,
with the 19" Segment alloys, Bang and olfusen audio, bluetooth phone.

Brilliant. You don't know how to do links despite having posted one on the line above, ha ha ha.

I've had mine remapped and miltek exhausts at APS, and RS5 Brakes (but these seem not as good as I hoped they would be ATM)

APS | Independent Specialist | Audi | Volkswagen | Porsche

Was another thread here about it, but I don't know how to do links.............

Anyway, very very very worthwhile modification!!

Hi,
Do you know what power you are getting from just the remap, and with your remap and exhaust. I have seen figures of 420bhp bouncing about the new for just a remap and then also for both.
What kind of price are we talking ?

Yep, the remap, which is a sportec one, is about 425 and the exhaust adds about another 15+

If you speak to Ed at APS he can give you all the details on pricing, but I think it was below £3,000 ish for both..

PS Xs2man

I meant links to another thread .................................... Obviously..!! :)

425bhp from just a remap is amazing! thats like RS4 power
Dont suppose the mpg is any better after the remap? I couldnt quite figure it out on the european figures

JPO, why is the remap so expensive? What do they do above and beyond a standard remap (500 quids worth) to justify the price?

looking at the remap graphs do you notice much performace gain under normal driving or only when you give it the beans?

Nah, fuel economy is no different,,, not that I've noticed.........

Necroscope,
I think the remap only was about £1,400, and the exhaust the same again...?? I could dig out the invoice, but if you speak to APS they can give you current pricing.... It might have gone down..!!! (better not have :) )

I would say the whole driving experience is more 'enjoyable', I found the standard car almost boring......... Sorry but I did.

Over in stornoway mate, what about yourself????
Should have a quote next week when the fellow that deals with the remaps gets back from holiday, I'll let u know

I spoke with APS and had a look at the rolling road results with just the remap.
They are showing 405bhp ish which is still amazing with just a map.

Part of the reason I assume for the expense is that the ECU needs to be taken out the car and shipped to the states to get flashed which I assume means the car is off the road for about two weeks.

Lets see what STAR come back with.

Only a few hours until I pick up the new car! Excited :)

Hummmm.... Strange......

Did you speak to Ed.? Mine was all done in a day, defo no shipping of anything anywhere....!!

It was ED I spoke to. Interesing you got it done in a day. Gives me hope :)

Picked up the car today and after long day of driving its been worth it.
Lovely car inside and out and plenty of gadgets to keep me out of trouble.

Somehow it also showed 43mpg for the fast 1/3 of the journey! shocker

Tomorrows first job is rip off the V6T badges on the side and put on some supercharger badges. (Do they come off quite easy? )

They come off real easy, the marks left by the V6T badges can be quite hard to come off, but they do go.

yes it s a 2 minute job. did mine easy. are you putting the carbon ones on or the red ones?

if your not in a rush for remap maybe what until revo release mine as i heard they are very close to finishing it.

Interesting re your mpg. How many miles has yours done? According to my road trip app the mpg does seem to be increasing from new so I guess the engine does loosen up a bit

Whats the app called. I quite fancy that lol
I think I'm sitting at 32mpg just now after a lot of playing

MTM got back to me today and said they do a kind of piggy back ECU and it looks like a new pully which gives 430bhp which is pretty sweet and install time is only an hour so no sending the ECU away for 10 days.
Piggy back seems to be a CANBUS controller.

Price is still quite steep for a remap/piggy back at £1500 +vat but its pretty big returns.

FINN, did you get any word back from STAR on the s4 remaps?

Badges are on. Hair dryer helped loosen the stickiness of the old ones

Spoke with them the other day and they said it'll be a few weeks yet before they start doing remaps for the S4, and the cost will be around 1500.
I'll be phoning them when I get back to the UK and see what their saying then.

I have decided to go with an apr stage 2+ map with pulley upgrade. Will be doing a review/write up once installed.

Ecu does have to go to the states for a flash though.

Been waiting for revo for ages now. But they are too far behind and still saying a few months.

Then not sure if its going to be a stage 1 or stage 2 aswell.

So combined with the stratmoshpere intake and miltek non res i already have installed, figures should be really good.

I wouldn't like the fuel figures after this remap!
Have you seen any UK figures for them after remap?

S4 omz, I will look forward to hearing your reviews :) I wonder why someone has cracked it and everyone else is taking so long

Not sure why. I know apr and stasis can do it at the moment. But you have to ship the ecu to them in the states.

Mtm offer a piggyback unit which im not to keen on. Yes will hopefully post a review in the next few weeks.
