New Owner - Few questions.

Hi,

I have just purchased a '09 A5 2.7 Multi-tronic.

I've never owned an automatic before so I'm hoping someone here can answer a few questions for me.

is it normal that this car should have a low whine at low speeds and at idle?

Also when the car is in reverse, the cars makes a sort of grinding noise, not while the car is moving but if I stop.
it only lasts for a few seconds, then stops for a while and then does it again?

I had the car on a hill, front pointing down the hill and put the car in R, it holds fine but the 'grinding' noise is constant.

Is this normal?

I doubt a grinding and winding noise is normal, checked for and transmission fluid leaks?
